May be the time has come when the administrators become region, train or station specific, they can collect the data, create historical patterns and may be come up with better predictions, this will further enhance your fan base.

Yes, I agree partially with your opinion and fully understand your concerns, but what else the respected passenger might expect when nobody is sure of the movement. As you may be already aware, movement is dependent on many factors, which none of us is in control of. With so many blanks like the other member, rather admin, pointed out, we can only give a prediction and it is only but natural that these predictions change as the travel date gets closer. I still believe members are trying their best given their personal experiences and not just randomly ticking away the options.

Obviously that would change. We always call these as 'predictions' but based on experience. I agree Region specific predictions may provide better results but that will also decrease no. of predictions.
Apart from these predictions, I personally follow a second rule:
"the more urgent is my forthcoming journey, more I will try to get a alternate arrangement like tatkal or other mode of Transport."
