Bihar ke do bade sheher mfp of gaya me ek bhi direct train nahi hai. Y link banne se dono ka connection better hoga. Waise bhi wahan par khet hai, to land acquisition me bhi zyada problem nahi hoga

I know Patna can't be compared to any other city of Bihar. It has a much bigger population. But even you know that many people from other parts of Bihar(specially North Bihar) go to Patna to catch trains because it has much better connectivity. If they had the same connectivity from their hometown, they won't go there.

Bhaiji lagta hai aap patna se train nahi pakde hain kabhi (especially south ki train), agar aadhe log patna ke hote hain to aadhe north Bihar ke rehte hain

No one says MFP is greater than PNBE or even equal to it. It will be absurd to say such thing.

And I really don't get why you guys compare the city population only. Don't Rural people travel in trains? Infact it's the most preferred option for them.
Now please checkout the District population of Patna and then tell me it's 5-6 times of that of Muzaffarpur.

PAT has enough runway length for A320s & B-777 which are landing there since ages. Runway length is NOT the reason for NO international flights. Customs and immigration area is.
Did I say Muzaffarpur district has more population? NO
I just meant the difference in district population is not huge.
And it's not just about Muzaffarpur. North Bihar as a whole is very densely populated having 65% of Bihar's population. Do you have cities in such proximity in south of the Ganges as it's in the north?

Why you always try to put words in my mouth? Did I said A320s & 737 are wide body(big) aircraft?
I only said PAT has enough runway for Narrow Bodied A320s & 737 which can safely land within 1830m which they're continuosly doing in PAT.
And even if it had a 3000 m runway, I see no wide body plying from PAT in the foreseeable future.

Indian carriers run 777 or 787 mostly on India-Europe/Singapore/US routes. I may also tell you that currently only 7 Indian cities have connection to Singapore. Only 5 have connection to Europe and only 3 to US. Now do you really beleive Patna has the capacity to fill a regular flight to these Destinations considering the fact that even Kolkata has no flights to Europe or US?
On every other international route Indian carrier run narrow body aircrafts such as A320 and 737, so who told you these aircrafts are only for domestic...

They do hard landing because of the displaced threshold on the west side.

I do not endorse his statement. That was illogical. Although it can be increased But Darbhanga Airport can never have the same no. of passengers as Patna airport. Patna airport can definitely improve it's passenger stats after it's new terminal is built. It is currently running at full capacity and no flights can be increased due to very few nos. of gates.
