It would be more useful and convenient for passengers if 06067/06068 Chengalpattu Coimbatore Special is operated via TPJ-DG-POY than the current route, which is via TPJ-KRR-ED. The current TT has longer run time between TPJ-CBE (7 hrs). Instead routing via DG would take less as there is not much traffic is DG-POY line.

Why cant SR operate it via TPJ-DG-POY-CBE?
The current TT takes 7 hrs from TPJ to CBE.. DG - POY line is under utilized too. It can cover the overall distance in much better time.

Same BS.. CBE demanded ONT to SBC/YPR, they have given UDAY which is not even close to the demand and is empty mostly... They cited reasons are slot, rake availability, etc for ONT, but this one is getting released. So disappointing.

Is this a Daily ONT?? No.
Does this have SL, UR, 2A?? No
Is this dedicated to CBE-SBC?? NO
Is the dedicated UDAY useful? No
Does this Humsafar got apt timings for CBE? No
And
...
we dont know about ticket quota for CBE in this train. Even SBC-CAN doesnt accommodate CBE much. We are talking about a sector which could have a dedicated Train for these two cities and dont have the necessity to share trains with other important cities.. You do understand what I have mentioned.. Do you?

Chennai and Bangalore are the first two routes which have been having high demand from Coimbatore for more than 2 decades. If you say, CBE-SBC ONT wont get demand, either you have no knowledge of the travel scenario in CBE or must own one of the Pvt buses in CBE - BLR route.. :-) And never judge a route's capacity based on a SPL train which was operated on a weekday and that did not reach the public much too. These are routes which need consistent schedules and reliability. Commuters will look forward for daily trains at right timings. Now the CBE-SBC route is dominated by pvt buses.

I agree with your point. They have to work on the schedules for accommodating an ONT. Late dep from SBC or any nearby stations should be facilitated, same way the vice versa too.

Lol.. Like the last line.. Me too :-)
And regarding the SPL train, it did not run as a Daily one. And definitely the load on buses reflect in this route. SBC route is similar to MAS route. May be the other second tier towns are different, but not this prime route. That too with increase in fuel prices, an ONT would be of a great use. Even the CBE-NCJ ONT is doing good. And this demand has been open for more than 2 decades. Even when slots and rakes were available. Still nothing materialized.

Yes, that was a worst move to accept the UDAY Express in the first place. The 12677/78 was doing a lot better as dedicated train. Even during those days, there was a request for ONT. To your question, there is definitely a great scope for a regular SF or Express with All class configuration (SL, 3A, 2A, UR) doing better than UDAY. The concept of UDAY is just an eye wash. Its day train to ply in high density routes like MAS-SBC. It doesnt work in CBE - SBC route. Instead of UDAY, in the same slot if an Inter City Exp is deployed, it would make more. In the mentioned trains, though general quota, it has to be sharing with other destinations too. I wouldn want to take seats which belongs to CAN, ERS and other towns. When you have a load for a dedicated train from CBE, TUP, ED,...
why do you wanna compete with the other trains?? This actually does reduces the load on KL bound trains.

True, but still the gap for an ONT cannot be replaced with UDAY. Lets see what happens.
