Varanasi: At least six people were killed and fifty others injured after eight coaches of Doon-Howrah Express with Train number 13009 derailed near Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. The train was en route from Howrah to Dehradun.
According to reports, the accident took place at Mani halt near Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh. The spot of of the accident is 35 km from the Jaunpur District.
ADG Railways said that the accident occured due to technical snag.

The train was travelling between the station of Khetasarai and Mehrawa when the accident took place. The rescue and medical teams have been rushed to the accident spot.
This is the second train accident in ten days. On May 22, the Bangalore-bound Hampi Express collided with a goods train killing 14 people.
According to reports, Railway Minister Mukul Roy is on his way to accident spot, the minister has announced a compensation of rs 5 lakh for deceased and rs 1 lakh for serious injury; employment will also be offered to the family member of deceased, if they want it.
