It is ironic that Palakkad division holding Pollachi and surrounding area of 25 to 30 kms of TN state is playing spoilsport in improving rail connectivity in western TN.
MV TJ extension via DG TPJ PLNI upto POY or upto CBE via Kinathukadavu is OK. But merging with ED PGT is a wrong decision.
If origin and end point is a yardstick, why not even one train is running from Mangalore to Chennai via Hassan route? Why all via SRR PGT? Is it not Palakkad lobby?

If the idea is to connect delta districts to Palani/ Pollachi/ Coimbatore, there is no need to take it upto Palakkad. It can go via Kinathukadavu.
When Netravathi and Mangala are restored via MAQ, with decent quota of seats and when MAQ SBC gets a dedicated SR train, I will stop talking about Palakkad division's partiality to the area which feed PGT's existence.
