Omgitsshishir 96 blog postsNeed help on this issue. I have booked 2 tickets in IInd AC from GKP to HJP on 26.06.2024. Both the tickets are confirmed. Subsequently i have received message that this train has been cancelled on 26.06.2024 due to operational reasons. What is the process for refund of ticket amount. Will it be automatic or i need to cancel on IRCTC. Please advise for correct procedure so that i dont loose money on cancellation charges.
If booked online refund would be automatic though now a days taking 15-20 for completion of refund process

Yes, tickets will automatic cancelled when your date of journey chart preparation time came. Refund process will start after date.

Lucknow arrival time bhi weird hai. Patliputra se thoda late depart karwaye to 5 am tak Lucknow arrival possible hai.
This train only has 4 sleeping carriages [rest are chair cars or 2S or General] only, so making it an overnight journey would render the current coach composition infeasible. To make things complex, this thing has a RSA with Lucknow[Aishbagh]-Gorakhpur ICE which doesn't have this weird of timings. So, it's coach composition won't be changed most likely which makes proper night journey tough.
It would have been a SF when it was introduced, that's why the charges are still being levied, I think. Check 12531/2 , LJN-GKP ICE, that has an average speed even lower at ~49 kph but has SF surcharge. But when it was introduced, it was ~30 minutes faster than current day and it's avg back then did come out to be 55 kph.
