What is meant by Telescopic Fare? What is the procedure to avail of this benefit? How do I fill the form at the PRS counter? 8 Answers What is meant by Telescopic Fare? What is the procedure to avail of this benefit? How do I fill the form at the PRS counter? That is fine. Do not bother about the space on the form. Mention the change of train and station on top of the sheet along with the dates. For ex I write it like this MYS-SBC | SBC-MAS | MAS-HWH | HWH-GAYA 16022 | 16258 | 12842 | 12311 dd-mm... more... u can not make a telescopic ticket in same train. u have to take two separate ticket. like if from chennai to howrah in coromondol exp is waiting list and if it is available from chennai to VSKP and VSKP to HWH than u can book two ticket from MAS- VSKP and VSKP - HWH by paying separate fare for both tkt. But no direct ticket from CHENNAI to HOWRAH resv up to VSKP and in same train again reservation from VSKP to HWH. Aug 09 2011 (13:55) Blog Post# 217142-4 Prabhakar Agarwal Added by: Prabhakar Agarwal Aug 09 2011 (15:51) The telescopic fare structure, a system in which the fare decreases in slabs as the length of the journey increases and the fare does not increase proportionately with distance. For instance, if a passenger wants to travel from Mumbai to Amritsar with a break journey at Delhi, he can purchase ticket by the PUNJAB MAIL , break journey at Delhi and purchase a ticket for the onward journey on any train that goes from Delhi to Amritsar. Please note there are certain restrictions in this rules :- a)... more... Fare between BPL and HBJ is Rs 169. whereas fare from INDB to HBJ is 259, due to telescopic fare. More the distance traveled, lesser will be the fare in camparison of distance travelled and vice versa. For example u r travelling from A to C via B Fare A to C is less than ( Fare A to B + Fare B to C) no the telescopic fare add 15% of the shortest route ever. but your route is more than the short of 150 kms so there are not allowed to book this ticket. but as per railway concern therr are some routes allowed for telescopic journey so kindly go to the prs and try to make a ticket. In IR, more you travel, less you pay. e.g Suppose you travelling a distance of 500 kms, ticket cost is Rs x. If you travel a distance of 1000 kms, the fare will NOT be double. it will be less than 2x. That is telescopic fare, you pay less as you go more. |
