In a big boost to the finances of Konkan Railway, the actual construction work for connecting Konkan Railway to the nearby port of Jaigarh will commence...
18.8kms of tunneling for 33.7km long line speaks great about toughness of terrain, hopefully a straighter alignment with high line capacity has been chosen for the route. But just 800 Crore Rs estimate appears too less for such terrain.
This rail connectivity shall be the the first major freight loading point and hence the financial backbone of Konkan Railway.
But the doubling of KR have to be speeded up so that freight trains originating from the Jaigarh port may get time slots in the super saturated KR. Till date doubling of only Roha-Veer...
