KALYAN: Four railway coach attendants were arrested from Panvel on Thursday for allegedly selling liquor on an outstation train. The accused, who are contractual employees, had stashed away 45 bottles on board, said officials of the crime branch of the Railway Protection Force which conducted a raid as the Karmali LTT AC Superfast Express pulled into Panvel station.
The officials said that the accused used to buy the liquor bottles in Goa and sell them to passengers on board. If any bottles remained with them, they used to sell them to their other clients on reaching Mumbai.

accused—Bishveshwar Ram, 35, Shulman Agarwal, 26, Dnyaneshwar Ambani Choudhary, 48, and Mohan Tulsa Sahu, 30, had been employed since five years and were carrying out this illegal business since, at least, a couple of years, said the officials.
Senior inspector Sandeep Ombase of the crime branch unit told TOI that the accused have confessed that they used to buy the liquor at throwaway prices in Goa and then hawk it to passengers.
A case has been registered against the four.
