The line is expected to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with another new line connecting Sonwal to Ghazipur City. The total cost of both new lines is 1766 crore rupees. Construction is nearing completion and the project's foundation stone was laid by the Prime Minister on November 14th, 2016. The project involved acquiring 35.5310 hectares of land from 2917 farmers across 17 villages.
