The NFR is phasing out diesel trains in favor of electric trains, citing cost-effectiveness and reduced carbon emissions. The central government has allocated Rs 260 crore for upgrading Agartala station and Rs 93 crore for transforming Dharmanagar, Udaipur, and Kumarghat stations into Amrit Bharat stations.
