85% of the electrification work from Lumding to Badarpur (172 km) has been completed. The NFR has electrified 65% of its tracks, including 55% in Assam. Once complete, this electrification will allow for the introduction of trains like Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat. The NFR is phasing out diesel trains in favor of electric trains, citing cost-effectiveness and reduced carbon emissions. The central government has allocated Rs 260 crore for upgrading Agartala station and Rs 93 crore for transforming Dharmanagar, Udaipur, and Kumarghat stations into Amrit Bharat stations.

August tak complete hone wala hai. Lumding se Badarpur tak 172 km stretch mein, 85% electrification kaam pura ho chuka hai. NFR ke under aane wala 65% tracks electrification ke neeche aa chuka hai, jismein Assam ke 55% tracks bhi include hain. Electrification pura hone ke baad, Vande Bharat aur Amrit Bharat jaise trains introduce ki ja sakti hain. NFR diesel-operated trains ko phase out karne ki soch raha hai, aur electric trains ke advantages ko highlight kar raha hai, jaise ki cost-effectiveness aur reduced carbon emissions. Centre ne Agartala station ko world-class standards tak upgrade karne ke liye Rs 260 crore allocate kiye hain, aur Dharmanagar, Udaipur, aur Kumarghat stations ko Amrit Bharat stations mein badalne ke liye Rs 93 crore allocate kiye hain.
