years' increment arrears. The letter, issued by Sudeep Pal, Executive Director (Pay Commission) of the Railway Board, refers to a Supreme Court order in the case of Union of India v. Tarsem Singh. Previously, retired employees had to approach the courts to receive their increment arrears. Now, even though retired employees who retire mid-year will still have to go to court, they will not receive more than three years' increment arrears. Alok Lahgal, Assistant Secretary of NCREES, confirmed that the board's order states that the maximum increment arrears will be for three years. The arrears will be calculated from the date the court case is filed.

Pehle, retired employees ko increment arrears lene ke liye court jaana padta tha. Ab, sal ke beech mein retire hone wala railway employees ko court jaana hoga, lekin unhe three years se zyada increment arrears nahi milega. NCREES ke Assistant Secretary Alok Lahgal ne bataya ki board ke order mein saaf likha hai ki increment arrears maximum three years ka diya jaayega. Increment arrears ki calculation court jaane ki date se pehle ki jaayegi.
