Panchkula : The National Investigating Agency (NIA) today found itself in a spot as it admitted that Kamal Chauhan, an accused in the Samjhauta bomb blast case, was in custody on February 10.The NIA counsel informed the special NIA court that Chauhan was released at Indore the next day. It further informed the court that the accused was again arrested from Noida on February 12.The court fixed May 15 as the next date of hearing. Defence counsel Ajay Kaushik said the reply filed by the NIA had vindicated their stand that the agency had picked Chauhan earlier.He said if Chauhan was released at Indore in Madhya Pradesh on February 11, it was not possible for Chauhan to reach Noida the next day.The NIA produced Lokesh Sharma in court today. a production warrant.On June 20 last year, the NIA filed a charge sheet against Swami Aseemanand and four others in the Panchkula NIA court.The agency accused Aseemanand, Lokesh Sharma, Sunil Joshi (now dead), Sandeep Dange and Ramchandra Kalasangra, alias Ramji, of hatching a criminal conspiracy. It added that their plan resulted in blasts in the train near the Dewana station in Panipat district in February, 2007. The blasts resulted in 68 deaths, a majority being Pakistan nationals.
