NOIDA: The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) on Wednesday decided the colour code of its 29.7 km Noida-Greater Noida Metro corridor. The company has chosen aqua and also decided on two tag lines for the route.
NMRC managing director Santosh Yadav has invited suggestions for safety and security guidelines from all stakeholders for the corridor.
Yadav told TOI that the Noida-Greater Noida track will be known as the 'aqua line'. He said, "Aqua signifies an eco-friendly colour, which is what we want to portray. Metro systems worldwide must comply with colour codification norms.

These colours have to be chosen to be distinct and different from one another. Such that even illiterate commuters or others can relate to the colour instead of the names of the stations."
Currently, Noida has the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation's (DMRC) blue line connecting to its network. In January next year the Kalindi Kunj-Botanic Garden track will also connect to DMRC's magenta line. With the Noida-Greater Noida track in place, Noida will have three colour coded lines—Blue line, Magenta line and Aqua line—operating out of the city.
Yadav also said, "Ride with Pride and 'Noida Metro, Apni Metro' are the two tag lines that will be used by us," he said. "We have also decided on a name for the 'one city, one card' smart card. This card will be called 'acome'," he told TOI. "This card will enable a Metro passenger to get a smart card that can be used for the metro ride, city bus service, cinema, shopping at stations and for paying parking charges. With this card, a passenger will not need cash to avail these services," he said.
