Wat is circular railway?
A Local Train Rail Line encircling Kolkata City like Ring Road encircling New Delhi. The track starts from Sealdah and returns back to it via Lake Gardens - Majerhat - Princepghat - Eden Gardens - Shyambazar - Kolkata Chitpur - Dum Dum :-)

Circular railway is a part of eastern railway , sealdah division..
It is circlely round the kolkata..
The route starts at kolkata bimabandar (dumdum airport ) & ends at Dumdum jn., via dumdum jn , kolkata chitpur , bbd bag , majherhat , ballygunje , sir gurudas banerjee halt , bidhannagar road .
Before 2000 , only some stream trains runs from Dumdum jn to Princep ghat .

After extention & electification the emu trains runs from this route..
It is circlely round the kolkata..

the symbol of circular railway...Thanks for the rectification. I have added this info to IRI FAQ. I remember those days when a WDS-4 Diesel Shunter used to haul 2nd Seating Maroon Colored Rake on this route. I used to see that train at Princep Ghat while visiting Scoop Snacks Cafe .... in front of the Hooghly River it was WoW, especially during the monsoon season :-D
