I don't trust NTES but I travel by this train from Mon-Thu. Up down between NGP-AMI. And most of the time it is RT. Infact, sometimes it reach AMI at 9:10 only, still NTES says 9:25, don't know why but.

Haan ji. SCR aur SR bhi khoob WAP7 use karte hain passengers ke liye. Jab loco ka main advantage acceleration hain, tab use kam halt wali train mein use karne se advantage nahi hai. Agar schedule speed up kare toh teekh hai, par jab schedule bhi non-aggressive hai aur halt bhi kam hai, toh jyada acceeration ka kya faaida? Isiliye toh SR ke Shatabdi, aur bahut saare Duronto WAM4/WAP1 ke saath chalate the.

Grievance Description : Subject:- Production/Allotment of WAP-5 locomotives. The WAP-5 loco was specially imported from ABB Swiss for the passenger traffic of IR. it variant WAP-7 was created which is more in use as it is suitable for Indian Railway tracks. WAP-5 typically is a high speed loco and best with small length trains like 12 coach gatimaan or 18 coach shatabdi. Only NR and WR homes WAP5 loco while other zones like ER CR SCR SER n SR, have mostly refused to run trains with WAP-5 loco due to gradients and ghats in South India Also, in ER, WAP-5 rarely visit despite the NDLS-MGS-HWH route being considerably flat and high speed. If this loco is useful only in WR n NR part of India and not in other parts of India. Why is such WAP5 loco still in production? If it has capabilities then why it is restricted to these two zones only? Against all this, I feel WAP-5 can manage with small load of 12 coach Shatabdi/Gatimaan in BSP-NGP-SC n MAS-SBC routes. Can the existing routes like BSL-NGP-BSP or NGP-SC-MAS-SBC be engineered for removal of gradients as far as possible to make it fit for WAP-5 locomotive?

Segregation of BSL P4 , KYN P5, AJNI P7 will make things more clear than overloading just one shed. Even SR has done this segregation.

link for MAS Rajdhani, so how far is LGD from NZM/NR 1659 Km ? or if in case, the link is arranged from MAS, how far is LGD from MAS 781 Km? Does that affect the 130 mps run of MAS Rajdhani?
trip shedding is not important at MAS/NZM for that LGD P7?
Do not not worry about how WAP-5 would be reach NGP frm KYN. As there are cam2 n cam3 over there, similarly WAP-5 too will reach. just as you mentioned with 12289.
KYN is not getting WAP7 n what abt AQ? did it get wap7 from 5 years? only 15 wap-7 from 5 years! this 2 wap7 of KYN were somehow adjusted in AQ. Are new allotments made to AQ? No!
Reason could be this, LGD/SCR 121 WAG-9 locos, AQ+KYN/CR 212 WAG-9 locos and SR zero WAG-9?
Like ED and KYN were suppose to get P7, BSL and ET too were suppose to get WAG9, so, these WAG9 from AQ/KYN could be transferred to BSL/ET. Making space for WAPs in both the sheds. Even RPM should take WAG9 locos from LGD/AJNI. Practice on WAG9 itself has made TKD, AJNI, LGD handle WAP7 very well. Same was attempted in KYN n BRC, take WAG9 first then WAP7. It would have been good for RPM that way, not all can be GZB/HWH to directly start with WAP7. HWH still gives WAP7 to their Raj, RPM could not give it to MAS GR/DRNT/RAJ permanently
WAP-5 did haul 22109 at 120 mps in BPL Palwal section as 120 mps clearance was there that time.
Similar to ED, KYN didnt get WAP7. Ofcourse, both are overloaded as per their capacities. RPM WAP7 are still of no use particularly as it couldnt be given to MAS Raj/GR n also it couldnt be made permanent for MAS Duronto just like cams in CR, they roam around their home territory mostly.
Still, whatever explanations you give, RPM and BRC remain newbies. BRC WAP5 are still not used for any operations above 130 kmph coz actual up-gradation didnt happen, it's only talgo that did 150 kmph that too in trials, with GZB not BRC.
Just as BCT NDLS is A grade route, CSTM-BSL-HWH/NDLS too is a A grade route. For same reason, BSP-NGP and NGP-Sewagram are chosen for 160 kmph. And also IGP-BSL-ET is getting upgraded for 130 Kmph same like virar-brc-godhra/adi.
Now, let us check recent real upgradations, NDLS-UMB 110 to 130 Kmph done , BRC-ADI 110 Kmph to 130 Kmph up-gradations is done, Virar to Godhra 120 to 130 Kmph up-gradations is done, TKD-AGC 150 to 160 Kmph upgradation done.
10-20 kmph speed increase are done successfully recently.
Now, IGP-ET 615 Kms, 110 to 130 Kmph i.e 20 Kmph speed increase. as per the recent up-gradations in Virar-BRC-ADI/Godhra, NDLS-UMB, this up-gradations looks more feasible. you are asking about how much time will CR/WCR take for IGP-Khandwa/Khandwa-ET up-gradations
Did you ask for How Much time will SECR/CR/SCR take for a high jump from110-120 Kmph to 160 Kmph? BSP-NGP-SC in total being 1193 Kms!
BSP-NGP 410 Kms, 110 to 160 Kmph i.e 50 Kmph increase, also NGP-BPQ 208 Kms, 120 to 160 Kmph, i.e 40 Kmph increase, BPQ-SC 575 kms, 120 to 160 Kmph, i.e 40 Kmph increase, Did you ask how much time will CR take for NGP-BPQ 120-160 Kmph up-gradation? lol
Even if CR completes it's work in 208 kms, what about SCR/SECR then?
For your info, work has been started for IGP-ET and no work has been started by CR/SCR for even 130 kmph forget 160 kmph, it's just SECR trying to take interest.
PG was about allotments of WAP-5 presently as they are used only in WR n NR n why not in other parts of India and so, if given at present in CR , CST-PUNE, PUNE-ADI, CST-ET and also CST-NGP can make use of it.
Like WR was/is interested in high speed projects in Future but is homing P5 from now on n using it for their 110 mps intercity trains majorly and few 110 mps long distance trains n few 130 mps trains like Shatabdi n Duronto, same can be done in CR. moto is get familiar with wap5 maintenance and operations in CR n neighbouring routes with different type trains be it 24 coach, or rajdhani or duronto.

Right now the high speed train is MAS Rajdhani. It's SCR's headache to provide loco for it. Forget about WAP5, First Provide RPM WAP7 for 130 mps MAS Raj/GR. lol CR takes the headache for providing loco for rajdhani trains, be it of NR/CR and all three sheds do it willingly, KYN WDG3A loco for Goa Rajdhani Inaugural, BSL P4 for LTT-NZM, AJNI WAP7 for BSP Raj.
ED WAP4 does a better job than BSL WAP4 with Rajdhani. That's the reason I said Erode would have been far better choice than RPM and also as per the procedure to take wag9 first n then wap7. Erode did receive some wag9 didnt they but they too were taken back as Wikipedia mentions

abt ED WAG9, but atlast it was SR's decision. If they wanted they could have transferred WAP4 from ED to RPM like NR did from GZB to LDH But it's SR's choice. Same way it will be CR's choice for wap5 i.e if allotted where to shed it kyn or ajni. Moto is to use WAP5 with 110-130 mps trains for now as you had said they can be used for 110 mps 24 coach long distance trains too.gatimaan has long time to go for now in CR.
Also, you had only mentioned abt 100 kmph mps for WAP5 in SR. so. it's real more long way to go for SR. tab tak LGD Zindabad karo :p for borrowing WAG9 locos for goods train as well 130 mps WAP7 for Raj/GR.

First of all, let us not convert this discussion into a zone-vs-zone debate. Whatever I said earlier, I'm repeating now. All zones will not operate locomotives the same way. As long as KYN uses WCAMs in Mumbai-Pune sector the possibility of them operating a WAP with those trains is negligible.
Segregation of locos is not necessary. Mention one zone where the locos are segregated and homed in separate sheds _________.

to see them with LGD WAP7 loco link. They also share the same slot. That does not mean RPM cannot provide locos to Rajdhani and Garib Rath. 12269/70 Duronto has a slightly different slot and RPM WAP7 hauls this train most of the times nowadays (sometimes LGD also).
Also, BRC is not a newbie. Don't tell me BRC WAP5 locos have not hauled high speed trains :P. On some rare occasions BRC WAP5 hauled 12002 Bhopal Shatabdi at 150 km/h. They are well capable of hauling high speed trains. Don't ask why BRC WAP5 was not chosen for carrying out trials with TALGO :P. The point is, a WAP5 locomotive was used for the trials. That's what matters. Shed doesn't matter.

There is not much Freight traffic in SR that it needs WAG9 of its own now. Consider SCR. SCR handles lots of freight trains. So I feel LGD getting G9 is justified.
As pointed out by the member,there is LSA between the Rajdhanis. So if SC Raj gets LGD link, then the loco returns to South with MAS Raj/GR. The distance of ELS from the train's base doesnt matter. NR should have provided GZB links to SC/MAS Raj. Infact GZB P5/7 used to be regular with MAS/SC Raj/Duronto. But then NR needed them for trains plying in NR/NCR. NR has even given the link of TVC/MAO Raj and FZR Janta to WR/WCR.

MAS Raj getting LGD P7, it is perfectly doing the job. It can return to LGD from NDLS with SCR trains. Consider HWH Rajdhani. It always used to get GZB P7 inspite of HWH having its own P7. It took some until a year ago or so for HWH P7 to be regularised with Raj.Same maybe the case with RPM WAP7.
Also SR provides links both for SR and SWR trains. So its not possible for SR to provide locos on a regular basis to all trains. Within SR, you can see trains with fluctuating links.

Note that zonal requirements vary. In SR there is no high speed section. For that matter, WAP1/WAM4 itself is enough. SR has just 3 North bound high speed trains only viz., MAS Duronto/Raj/GR.
