Hopefully it will get confirmed. IF it is E-ticket, your ticket will get automatically cancelled if it DOES NOT come into RAC or gets confirmed. That is if it is still waitlist at chart preparation, the E-ticket will automatically get cancelled. Best of Luck and good wishes.

@ first blogger :
You are not allowed to travel with Ticket under WL status. In case you travel on such WL ticket, you are treated as ticketless traveller and face its consequences.
Better you wait for confirmation of ticket. Or for RAC status - (one step ahead to WL status), which permits you to travel with an assured seat (on twin sharing basis)

Mar 06 (10:17AM)

@first blogger:
There are chances of confirmation. Next time please book tkt upto BELPAHAR, you will be on GNWL. It is always better to avoid, Bilaspur/Raigarh/Jharsuguda because booking to these points will place you under PQWL.
All the Best.

You be rest assured bcoz you will definitely find your berth in the chart.

It means Reservation Against Cancellation (RAC), you will be allotted with a Seat (Beside Window) but not a Berth. After the Chart Prepartion you will be able to see your Coach No. and seat Allotted to you.

in duronto you will get 2 ltrs of rail neer drinking water from O to D. if you want more then you have to pay. this is my personal experience. i boarded twice. food is excellent ,coaches are neat and clean approx every 30 minutes you will be getting coach attendent for cleaning of windows glass and toilets. i am fully satisfied with their hospitality.

Better to have standby arrangement of drinking water. You get fixed water supply from Rlys and extra payment for more requirement.
Although catering is included in the ticket cost, it is better to make some kind of standby arrangement of eatables particularly when you are travelling with childrens. No doubt, you get more eatables (with limited choice) on extra payments and may also get some eatables at stations of technical halts.

No doubt this train is the gem of Mumbai-Howrah line (a diagonal of Golden quad) and among the most prestigious train of India, running since times of Indira Gandhi...But many problems r there with this train:-
1. Its bogies r really dirty from outside (almost black)as it rarely gets a wash..Being a East Coast train, it doesnt get a wash at Howrah, nor the guys at CSTM wud touch it..Its rake goes to Puri as some Howrah-Puri Express(dont know exactly which??) where i suspect it doesnt get time at all at yard..Look at gleaming Jnaneshwari(CR).
2. Running mostly on CR line, it sometimes faces partiality and runs late..whereas Jnaneshwari is mostly bang on time..But I stongly think this problem has been sorted out to a grt extent as it runs fairly right time nowadays(as far as I experienced)..
3. From CSTM to HWH, it is a 1 night-2 days train (6AM-1230PM next day)..So it faces the brunt of local passengers thronging inside the Reserved coaches with an excuse just to get down at next stations and with the help of currpt TTE's its a grt trouble for Sleeper passengers..Viz. from Nasik to Bhusawal to Akola to Badnera to Nagpur all most till Gondia..Really a havoc..So I mostly travel by 3ac..
4. Sleeper bogies r oftenly ill maintained as I and some of my freinds have experienced..Broken window panes, rusty toilets, badly cushioned sleepers, basd lighting etc,etc.. Idont know when will E.Co Railway understand & maintain its dignity..
These things should really be looked upon to make this train a wonderful experience to travel..Anyways I still love this train & it is a really fast train..

Sir, what you say is possible. But, even so, the best way is to respond in neutral language correcting the info. This will serve the purpose of negating the inaccurate. Offensive language will not serve any purpose, and will get removed from this forum. Thanks.

they will never heed to a neutral matter-of-fact language. they want to create friction within ECoR on language basis. you can read the visakha or prasanti blog where nothing but pure fact was writen from our side and the cr ap from theirs.

@moderator and other bloggers, The moderator is right. You cannot stop anyone from making any comments about any State. Best is to ignore them. Do not respond. If a snake is hissing at you, the best is to keep quiet, and it will go away. If you provoke it, it will come to attack you again and again. Just think of it in that manner. Anti state comments are best ignored.
As for Odisha or Orissa, my former company's factory is there in Rayagada: JK Paper Mills. And my friend's wife is from Orissa, and I love the way people treat me there, and how I am regarded as a brother by my friend's in laws (I am a South Indian by the way - saying it only to illustrate).
You say you are a lover of trains. So what if somebody comments about some State? Let them comment. If you love trains, concentrate only on the trains aspect. Why bother about politics, social comments. If you can help somebody who needs information, you would have done a service to that person. There is a saying: people only remember for a long time negative things, while good things are remembered only for a very short time.
Your leaving the site will not remove those negative minded people. Will it? No. Who is the loser? You.. and me, and the other travelling public who are asking for information that you know better. So whom are you trying to help? The genuine passenger or traveller who does not know what to do, or where to find information. Correct? So take this in that spirit sir. Good wishes. We are all Indians and on this site all Indian Railway Fans...
As administrator, I will be the first one to remove offensive/vulgar comments. But upto a point I will tolerate comments because we are a democracy, and this site is also democratic. But as Administrator/Moderator, we have the right as the Speaker in the Parliament or the Assembly, we can remove from the proceedings that are outside the decorum of the site.

I recently travelled in this train from CSTM to Nagpur. This is the fastest connection to Howrah (not counting the duronto). I was surprised to see the absolutely horrible condition of the coaches. I travelled in AC 2T. The coach was very badly mainteained. The curtains were stinking and the attendant kept spraying some stuff on them. The food was very bad. This is a prestigious train but was shocked to see what I got to see. Look at Southern Railway. They keep TN, GT, Charminar, Brindavans in top running condition. Why cant eastern railway learn a few lessons from them?

Most of the times, try to Avoid travelling in UP/Bihar going trains since these trains are very dirty. I don't know why but most of the trains going to Up/Bihar/WB are dirty. Travel by Sevegram-- This is a first class trains connects to Nagpur.

Beggers and ennuch's are biggest supporters of earlier rly min Lalu.they also have links with railway protection force(RPF),Train Ticket examiners(TTE) and loco pilots.I have seen a Begger who lends money on intrest and his turnover is in Lakhs. So let us not encourage them.

beggars and eunuchs were there even before Lalu became the railway minister. it is the running staff like TTE, RPF etc who get a portion of the earnings who support such people, irrespecive of the railway minister.
