Yesterday (14-12-2016) it was rescheduled to depart from COA @ 20:30 delayed by 6 Hrs 10 Mins...But made it to CGL delayed by 4 Hrs 25 mins. So can say it gained 105 Mins enroute have to say pretty good run as compared to its regular run.
Its was proposed by SCR first mostly NS nunchi unde ani talk (Kanumoori baapiraju garu) valla vachindi, if i am right it was mentioned in Budget also, later proposed to run from VSKP that why to serve both was made to run via BVRT...Later ECoR ki changed daani taravata sangathi telisinde ga..
Actually it was Machilipatnam - Mumbai SF Bi-weekly mentioned in interim Railway Budget 2009-10 31. Machhalipatnam – Mumbai Superfast (Bi-weekly) . Then possibly VSKP would have asked to run it from there may be Purandeswari garu matladi untaru so set like that. But manchi aggressive TT daanidi.

A picture taken at the inaugural run of the 43 DN/44 UP Kakinada port - Madras (Beach ) Circar express at the old Kakinada Port station. This picture was shared with me by a family friend from Kakinada, whose father was the Loco pilot on the inaugural run and served as the loco pilot for this train for several years before retiring as a Diesel loco pilot based at BZA around 1987. Connecting Kakinada ( famously known as Second Madras ) and Madras Beach, this was a much loved train by not just the common people, but also politicians and the Telugu film industry's veteran movie stars. The train was the most famous named train... more...
running in the Andhra Pradesh region at that time, and was the main stage for a movie called 'Circar express' , that is based on the famous novel 'Murder on the Orient express'. The train initially had 1st and 2nd class coaches. While the exact details are unknown, it had a rake sharing arrangement with the Kakinada Vijayawada passenger, which used to run overnight at that time. Despite a slow schedule, this train was the lifeline and pride of the coastal districts for over 4 decades until the advent of faster options and even to this day, remains the only dedicated daily train to Chennai from the Godavari districts. It used to depart from Kakinada port at 12 noon, reaching Madras Beach at 6:45 AM the next morning taking 5 hours more than the Howrah mail, and was the first train to use the newly Gauge converted Bhimavaram-Vijayawada-Guntur route.
It was actually Amaravati MG link type. In 1996 when the GC of GNT - Marmagoa started, Amaravati which ran between GNT - UBL was handed to BZA. Then Amaravati Link (BG) ran from BZA upto a certain stn where people used to get down and catch Amaravti MG Exp from that stn to continue their onward jrney. I remember two journeys of mine inn the years 1996 - 1998. In one journey Amaravati BG was upto Giddalur, and in Giddalur passengers shifted to Amaravati MG exp. In second journey, Amaravati BG was upo Nandyal. And at the time of that journey there was no MG service. Caught a bus to Gooty, and then to BAY.
