I wonder.. what did CR do with all the WCAMs after electrification of their 2 mumbai local lines?
are they still in use?
If they are still servicable ..i hope NER + NCR ask CR/WCR to transfer these wcams...at GKP ,BSB and obvious ALD... half the routes are still non electrified..
. if not rake reversal but atleast time for loco change
All mentioned train already get LC & whch assures WAP exist..
If it was case like..train running with Alco cz WAP dnt exist..thn certainly transfer would hold certain ground!!
As of now, WCAM been utilized in certain trains, as WAP cnt totally undertake the territory & with time, WCAM gonna get phased out & replaced with new issued WAPs!!
Since they are mixed traction locos, they will be used in AC only mode now. Transfer of these locos might not be possible as it will require special training for the staff for the maintenance of the WCAM locos. For now, mostly WCAMs will spend the rest of their lives in CR only.
Let's wait for completion of et ald electrification than these dc unfit WCAM's will be used to there full extent reaching ald n eastern parts of India.
Can this be extended to KANNAUJ or BITHOOR(after guage conversion) ?
its runs late almost daily. if it is extended to KJN, TAT wil be tight.
at times short terminated at ALY.

Tribute to someone who is responsible for germination of rail-fan within me.. I still remember the time as a kid when I counted days on fingers to travel from CNB to ALD. Those chacha chaudhry comics which I bought to read onboard n finish before train's departure..My well in advance arrival on PF#2 corner to see the shunting process...n finally the musical note of sparking when panto touched the overhead wires which is gone currently with the smoke of WDMs..Those mandates by parents to sit in the rear end coaches so that less effort is required while exiting at ALD. It always made me sad because my distance from loco was increased..hehe.. Those curves on the single line from Central to Chandari where we were amazed to see the walls of nearby houses too close to us, as if we r roaming on the city's streets..The wait for FTP to get
