this train departs from guntakal junction @ 0.5. and arrives yeshwantpur junction @ 9.45. between these 2 station, it halts only @ dharmavaram junction and hindupur. but, it takes too much time from guntakal to yeshwantpur. (9 HR and 40 M). is there any technical reason? because, no other train take such a long time to cover same distance.

We can say its extra time given in addition to the required time to cover the distance,so that train can make up lost time in between due to delay and to reach the destination station on time...

Rake Update: I found No Pantry car for a good 33 hrs duration of my journey this train on 28th Feb from YPR to ET... There was limited catering available by the platform vendors when the train stopped at stations enroute..There was no IRCTC full time catering available.

What is the expansion of CC? But I definitely did not see a PC on the train that departed YPR on 28/2. I traveled from Yeswantpur to Etarsi. Is it possible that they remove it for one trip and run it without PC ?

Thanks for making the update. One sugeestion, It would be better to say "Limited Catering/Platform Vending" Instead of No catering... Looks like there are several meanings for Catering. Earlier I made a similar update on 12251/52 where the Admn said, even if the platform vendor is coming and vending in the train, that's called catering too but added a tag saying "Limited Catering". Which is OK. In my opinion Catering means, the IRCTC carries food supplies in bulk which is cooked in their kitchens (not in PC) and keeps it in an allocated space in a SL class bogie..and then they cater to the whole train through out the journey. Usually this is happening in very popular daily overnight or short distance SF trains, like 12785/86 and 12797/98. These trains have designated catering available through out the journey without Pantry Car. In my perception, we should have 4 options.

One inconvenience with such long distance trains having no PC is that in case of train getting late, it is hard for passengers to manage something for themselves.

precisely my point. many long distance trains which have a non-stop run of 300-400 km. If train gets late due to some inevitable reason, not having a PC attached can be a big issue

Again there may be an argument that base kitchens will be more in number once commissioned, but how hygiene and clean they will be is question? also if train runs continuously for long distance, just to load food, they may have to stop.

In railway they have a specific word " Train Side Vending" for trains not having PC but have authorized onboard vending system.
