Silver Jubilee Celebration (11.07.1994 - 11.07.2019) of MEMU services over Barddhaman Asansol section. This is also the first MEMU service of India.
▪️Proof of trial of MEMU in 1994 is attached.
▪️The MEMU rakes were firstly homed at Howrah Carshed where Major Inspection (IA) was done. Only Trip Inspection (TI) facility was available at Asansol.

কচুজোড় ইস্টিশনের কথা বলি। সাঁইথিয়া থেকে অন্ডাল চলে গেছে যে রেললাইনটা, তার মাঝে পড়ে। সিংগল লাইন। সারাদিনে খান চারেক ডি এম ইউ আর ময়ূরাক্ষী ফাস্ট প্যাসেঞ্জার পাস করত। ময়ূরাক্ষী ব্যান্ডেলে থামে না, কিন্তু কচুজোড়ে থামত।
সে বহুদিন আগের কথা। বছর ষোল সাতেরো। আমাদের বক্রেশ্বর থার্মাল টাউনশিপের পাঁচিলের গায়ে ছিল কচুজোড়। স্টেশনে যেতে গেলে গ্রামের মধ্য দিয়ে যেতে হত। সে মহা লম্বা রাস্তা। কিন্তু ওই টাউনশিপের পাঁচিলের গায়ে গর্ত ছিল, তা দিয়ে আমরা গলে যেতাম। প্রথম প্রথম কোন স্টেশন বাড়ী ছিল না। একটা অ্যাক্সিডেন্ট হওয়া মালগাড়ীর কামরা ছিল।...

তাতে কেউ থাকত না। ট্রেনের টাইম হবার মিনিট পাঁচেক আগে একটা লোক, একটা টোপাজ ব্লেডের টিনের বাক্স নিয়ে আসত। তাতে কার্ডের টিকিট থাকত। প্যাসেঞ্জার তেমন কেউ থাকত না টিকিট কেটে য়্রেনে চড়ার মত। ময়ূরাক্ষী আসার সময় শুধু বেশ কিছু বেমানান মানুষ স্টেশনে আসত, টিকিট কাটত। তাও টাউনশিপের লোক পাশের চিনপাই স্টেশন থেকেই ময়ূরাক্ষী ধরত।
পরে স্টেশন ঘর তৈরী হল। ওখানে গিয়ে বেশ গল্প করা যেত। পাশের মাঠে খুঁটি বাঁধা একটা নিঃসঙ্গ গরু আর একটা লাল মাটি ফুটো করে জল তোলা টিউব ওয়েল। তখনও গ্রামে সব বাড়ীতে বিদ্যুৎ আসে নি। ঘুটঘুট করত রাতে।
এখন আরো কিছু ট্রেন আসে। কিছু বেশী মানুষ। গরুটা সারাদিন শুধু খায় আর ঝিমোয়। টিউব ওয়েল টা আছে কিনা কে জানে। সেই মাঝে ইঞ্জিন লাগানো ডি এম ইউ গুলো...কচুজোড়...ভাঙা কামরা...অন্ধকার....পাওয়ার প্ল্যান্ট...রেলগাড়ী...এক জোড়া লাইন...কখনো না মিলতে থাকা।

It was supposed to be a junction and a new BG line was supposed to be laid between siuri and prantik (bolpur) but due to land acquisition issues, the project has been shelved as of now.
