Dear friends, As you are aware that the Railway Board is going to withdraw the services of two pre-Independence era passenger trains, namely Lal Quila & Janta Express, effective from 1st of July, 2014. The Lal Quila Express, started its maiden journey in the year 1867, whereas Janta Express was introduced in the year 1946, in the main line section, thus both the trains bear a precious historical tag with them, rich in cultural exchange of pre-Independence era. This unfortunate decision is going to hit hard millions of poor passengers, who could some how, travel to Delhi from Kolkata or vice versa, via Patna, Mughalsarai, Kanpur route, with minimal expenditure. In absence of these trains, how come a common man will be able to travel ?? This is the fact that everyone cannot afford to travel by Superfast or Mail trains forget about Rajdhani and Shatabdi trains. Our per capita income...
more... does not permit us to bear this expenses.
We can't turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to the basis need of a common man. This decision of permanently disengaging of these two pre-independence era trains, was taken by the previous regime and is totally anti poor, and this decision of the Railway Board must be rescinded, for the sake of every common passengers, availing to travel through this route for their livelihood, regularly.
