after an awesome evening with rail fans at bangalore, now reached jollarpettai to board thiruvananthapuram guwahati express. booked it from palakkad to new jalpaiguri to avail general quota although I ll go upto new farakka. amazing scenes of a busy station at odd hours. half sleepy faces and wrinkles on those faces increase when there is an announcement at public addressal speakers. as soon as announcements end, d calm on sleeping faces are restored !!

nope. its not worth travelling in sleepers. but ac is fine
I ll summarize my trip-
the train is superb...no doubts about it...
speed...9/10
cleanliness. ..9.5/10 for 3a (on board sweeping at howrah and cleaning...
more...
of toilets at vskp and src)...sleepers 3/10...same onboard cleaning but sleepers were damn crowded with 100+ pax per coach
punctuality. ..10/10
on board staff behaviour. ..9.5/10
linen n bed roll...9.5/10
food n pantry...7/10 (very costly)
air conditioning. ..9/10
charging points. ..on both sides of bay in each row
local passenger and wait listed passenger...nil in 3a...plenty in sleepers...
chances of clearance of rac...very high as passengers book for different legs in such long distancers...
so if u manage a rac/confirm tkt...don hesitate to travel...very safe fast and punctual train...hats off and thank you indian railways for this service called tvc ghy express...

reached home safe. my 2.5hrs journey in mldt sbg passenger got delayed by an hour but my 39hrs journey in tvc ghy was hardly 20 min delayed. ac failure was also handled well as no delays but was corrected on running train by train staff...

Good to hear that. There was a time when this train had the distinction of being one of the worst in terms of its punctuality. Most of the time on an average it was delayed abt at least 5-10 hours. Good to see the change.
