The earlier govt had taken decision in Mid Feb itself but passed the buck to the upcoming govt.
Whatever it is, its good to see the hike in fare. Cant see IR being sold off to duffer billionaires in India.

the rail fare hike pinches the common man and will generate 7k crores in additional money for the 20k crore subsidised IR.
The talk of need to raise fares for better services is fine, but what about the mammoth money that corruption in IR guzzles? No talk on reducing that? I heard someone making talk promises about fighting corruption before elections.

Reliance is demanding $8.4 for the gas while its partner Niko Resources sells gas at $2.3 in Bangladesh. Better buy it from Bangladesh.
The Rangarajan committee which proposed astronomical hike in gas prices has used a arithmetic formula rather than cost based formula advocated in Production Sharing Contract.

Are you aware that out of total domestic Gas production, 85% is supplied by ONGC and thus any rate hike 'll be the most beneficial for ONGC and not any other company?
