Why SWR is holding them at YPR (both TEN and PDY to DR) in precious morning time for hours? When they claim congestion, they should send this CR train within 20 minutes out of YPR.
Real reason is that this was originally YPR-DR train and got extended. So, if you keep YPR dep at 0430 or 0500, Bangalore public will object. Hence, they kept the departure as it was earlier (then 0630, now 0700).
DR-YPR stretch also is useless in this train. It reaches Hubli at 1230, but finally arrives at YPR at...
more... 2130 and leaves at 2200. Why it should take 9-1/2 hours to cover this stretch?
You can see JS towards Hubli crossing this train. JS leaves Hubli at 1400 and arrives at YPR 2100 overtaking the same Chalukya. How can you digest 9 hr journey from UBL to YPR?
DR-YPR if made to arrive at YPR by 1945-2015, many will prefer this train. But if it leaves by 2045-2100 from YPR towards PDY, it will reach TNM-VM stretch at odd hours. To avoid this, great people have made this kind of TT. With same reason, PDY dep can be delayed to take care of 1.5 hour waiting at YPR, but will reach at odd hours in VM-TNM stretch. With this kind of TT, will any one prefer to travel to TK-DR stretch from PDY-KPD stretch?
If DR-TEN arrives earlier at TEN, will be better. Why to wait till 1145? TEN-DR starts at 1445 at TEN, not useful for TEN public and arrives at 0315 itself to bangalore outer. Can people boarding in TEN-SA stretch sleep in train when it is at YPR stn for more than 3 hours. What is the security arrangement during this odd hours at YPR?
Net result, with no use to its intended public (Pondy or Tirunelveli), Chalukya got extended. No use to any one, be it PDY, TNM, KPD, SBC, HSRA, DPJ, SA, ED, MDU or TEN.
