A term which is common in the world of Locomotives is "Gear Ratio".
This blog is dedicated to explore the term "Gear Ratio" in detail.
What is Gear Ratio?
Ans: The gear ratio of a gear train, also known as its speed ratio, is the ratio of the angular velocity of the input gear to the angular velocity of the output gear. The gear

The torque ratio of the gear train, also known as its mechanical advantage, is determined by the gear ratio. The speed ratio and mechanical advantage are defined so they yield the same number in an ideal linkage.

Many thanks for this very useful info and the links you have provided is also very good and informative.
I heard that a training regarding 3 Phaser is going on SRC ELS but no official proof is yet been seen. Regarding this issue I personally emailed GM and COM of SER and enquire about the reason of not using 3 Phaser in SER though they still not give the reply of my e-mail.
Also made an e-mail to DRM SDAH copy to GM ER to withdraw 3 Phase Loco from the charge of

SDAH NDLS Duronto since 2013 and continue with WAP 4 instead of WAP 7 for this train since 2013 but the reply of this e-mail also is pending.
I am a "Die Hard Fan" of 3 Phase Loco and want to see 3 Phaser for every Duronto, Rajdhani and Shatabdi and important superfast expresses of IR.
Regards
Nilanjan Ray

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
