@Nil Panwar: Re# 156433-11
If there is a single ticket (PNR) for you and your friends where three seats are confirmed and one is waiting, you can legally travel because 1) you have a ticket and 2) your friends can adjust you with them. In such a case, the TTE will generously allow you to travel. I have personally experienced this while traveling from CNB to NDLS by Howrah Rajdhani. There are only 2-seats for Kanpur quota. I was traveling with my parents in AC First. So, We had two CNF and one RLWL/1. The TTE allowed me, despite that the train was full. He noted my name in the chart and also notified the pantry staff for the extra meal (because...
more... I had a WL ticket). But, the TTE said that if we had two different tickets, one with two seats confirmed and the other with a single waiting list, then I could not have legally boarded the train! To summarize, if you have a single waiting ticket with yourself, don't take a chance, ask the TTE for a vacant berth, if available. But, if you share your ticket with 3 friends who are confirmed, you can board the train without any hesitation. All the best:)
