I believe that "The Compulsion" of taking "Catering Charge" inclusive of Fare at the Time of booking tickets of Trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi,Duronto etc should be withdrawn permanently(A Practice so long introduced by IRCTC) as because for example you paid Rs 500/- for Catering charge while booking the Ticket of any premium...

train but at the Time of Journey can't able to Consume that Food or beverage because of "Rodents/Roaches/Rotten Food". So your Rs 500/- is completely wasted you can't relish the Service you are eligible to get in lieu of it. So the "Catering Charge" should be made "Optional" at the Time of booking the Ticket of any Premium Train like Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto etc. The Same rule should be made available to all other Trains of IR where "Catering Charges" are "Mandatory/Compulsory" at the Time of booking tickets of those Trains. If Passenger wish THEN ONLY he can pay the Charge for Catering at the Time of making Reservation of these Trains otherwise NOT but Reservation should be made for that Passenger NOT willing to pay Catering Charge at the Time of Booking Ticket. Simultaneously Provision should be made in these Trains for giving meal on Spot at the Time of Journey in exchange of payment of required amount for any willing Passengers who won't pay "Catering Charge" at the Time of "Booking Tickets" in these Trains. Passengers Should Not be "Forced to Pay Catering Charge" at the Time of making Reservation of these Trains as IRCTC is "Not at all Worthy" to provide "Hygienic Fresh Food to the Commuters of IR" and there is a huge mismatch in between the Food Provided to Passengers and amount taken for it at the Time of making Reservation of these Trains from the Passengers. This type of "Looting" should be stopped by IRCTC and IR has to take proactive steps for it. So that Passengers should not be in Fast for Unhygienic food provided On Board and carrying food in their own either home made or from any Restaurant by paying additional Charge in spite of paying handsome amount as "Catering Charge" at the Time of making Reservation in Long Distance Trains.
