The proposed extension of this train to Puri is a BAD idea. Currently this train arrives at Bhubaneswar at 12:45 PM and leaves for Howrah at 1:20 PM. With the proposed extension the train will reach Puri at 2:10 PM and leave from Puri at 11:50 AM. So this will need two different rakes and will remain IDLE at Puri for more than 21 hrs.

Well, it has to be two rakes. And, it cannot share a rake with any other train. Idle time of 21 hours. That nothing. There are several weeklies lying in the yards idle for 3 - 4 days Eg. BBS - YPR express. Even a train like Prashanti express, which runs daily after reaching BBS has an idle time of 33 hours. It has an extra rake at BBS. The one that reaches BBS say today, departs for SBC day after tomorrow in the morning. Prashanti has no rake sharing too.

At some places there is a severe shortage of rakes hence new trains couldn't be started whereas at other places rakes are lying idle for hours together.

If it is true that Prasanthi express has idle time of 33hrs then there is a bright chance of extending to Howrah for the Sai devotees residing in WB.

Krishna express used to run between tirupathi-secunderabad as intercity, extended upto nizamabad and further extended to adilabad by adding 2 sleeper and one 3rd ac coach for the benifit of passengers rather keeping idle.
14hrs travel between hwh to vskp as intercity will definetly make the rake availability to a max time rather wasting/keeping the the rakes idle at one place.

Instead of extending the prashanti express to HWH, rather the yet to be introduced HWH YPR weekly express(2847/2848) should be given a slot different from the current one and made to run daily via Vijayawada, Guntur and Guntakal.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
