Actually the rail ministry can only tell, however the chances are bleak. Better to think of other alternatives.

I have already booked the ticket. At the time of booking I was not aware of the diverted rout and the Railway staff didn't say a single word about the diverted route.
I have six confirmed tickets.

Window clerk ? The window clerk may not even know that there is such a restriction. He will issue a ticket if it is allows him to do so.

Chances are rare. If I were in your situation, I would have backup plans.

First you tell, where you are now stationed.
Tell what route tickets are booked,
better to rebook the tickets after consulting your Station Master. then cancel the current tickets.

First if you are sure you can not board the train, then cancel the ticket before chat is prepared. you will get refund fare 100%, but charges for clerckage will be deducted 20 for SL, 40 for AC.
Second, use the bus if it suits you.
Or do break joureny with halts, where train are passing through your statinon. You still have not given your station name, though you mentioned Boarding stn, Kharagpur.

My station is Howrah
And I have already booked alternate tickets after knowing that the train is diverted... though I prefer to travel from kharagpur simply because of the timings and non-availability of tickets for the trains from howrah on that particular date.
