#moderator If someone is appreciating a pic by using any adjective or by writing couple of words then he is being asked to use rate button continuosly by some members and those type of blog posts are being termed as spam. Why? Some pics are so good that just marking a option called " GREAT" does not do full justification with that pic as well as the effort that the photographer puts in it to click that. Member should hav full authority to rate any pic in the way he wants, whether he does by clicking on RATE button or reply to the blogger with words like nice click, fantastic or whatever. And if you and FMs feel that user should click RATE button then add all type of adjectives under that which can be used to describe any pic. No problem with " GREAT"/any option present...

FMs have already been advised that some human judgement needs to be exercised here. For example, when members occasionally express genuine appreciation by posting "nice pic", "great capture", etc. then it IS VALID. Our RailFans do like to receive appreciation in replies - not just in Ratings.

However, if the SAME member copy/pastes the same replies or posts "nice", "great", etc. in DOZENS of posts, then it is SPAM.

So, it is not black-and-white. Some human judgement is involved. The intent and motivation of the member is an important factor. Anyhow, FMs have been advised that these are harmless posts - and we do not wish to be aggressive here. This site is for RailFans and we do not want to kill their enthusiasm by strictly policing minor issues.

The MOST IMPORTANT issues are those wherein new people sign up to the site and start posting spam links to unrelated external sites or start abusing others. These are the one that need to given top priority and quick, aggressive action taken by FMs. All members are requested to be vigilant and promptly use the Report button for such incidents.

Thanks sir, for this message. We just cannot reply to each and every pic, great is there for that. But some pics do need a compliment and by your this post post it is clear occassional replies are valid. So, Thanks for this.
