Convenient timing is desirable for overnight train so that paxs can get sufficient sleeping time (above 6 hrs) during the journey.

For Sikar-Delhi, a day time morning intercity with approx. timing (Sikar dep 6:00 & Delhi dep 11:00), for Return (Delhi dep 17:00 & Sikar arr 22:00) is a better option than night intercity because:
(1) With a single rake, daily connectivity can...
more... be provided. For over-night journey, 2 rakes shall be required for just 292 kms journey. For a slow MG train, the JP-Sikar-Delhi (400kms) overnight train was OK, but for faster BG train, just 292 kms is too short a journey.
(2) Over night train shall be convenient only for end to end journey and shall be very inconvenient for paxs intending to board/alight at intermediate stations.
(3) Sikar is not large enough and may not give enough paxs to fill a daily BG train. Earlier when I travelled from Sikar to Delhi by MG Shekhawati express, the only overnight connection, Sikar had a quota of about 40 odd berths and a few berths in First Class coach for Delhi. The traffic is unlikely to justify a full BG express train.
(4) Railway is likely to serve larger number of paxs, fetch much higher revenue , & lesser incur much lesser losses in day time intercity than the overnight connection.
