Sorry to say aditya we are not having the best infra in south.
Tamilanadu was having better infrastructure than AP. Double tracks alone never speaks about the infra. Mana electric shed nundi loco's velli valla shatabdi ki vadutharu. Valaki sheds kanna Railway coach factories ne vunnay.
Plus manaki north velle trains anni kuda down south nunde yekkuva Ap ni cover chesthayi...Mani hyderabad nundi thappa north peddaga yekkada nundi trains levu. SC also not connected to ASR, Dehardun, Jammu as of now.
Believe...
more... it or not, Andhrapradesh main tacks almost laid by Britishers only.
1.Take Nellore (tada) to Srikakulam(Ichhapuram) track was the part of HWH-MAS line laid almost more than 100 years back.
2.Vijayawada(BZA)- Sirpur-kagaznagar route is the part of MAS-NDLS main line which is constructed before Independence.
3.Waranagal-Hyderabad-Vikarabad-Wadi line also constructed in 1900's mean almost 100 years back.
4. Even TPTY/RU-GTL route is part of MAS-Mumbai main line was constructed in 1900's which is more than 100 years back.
5.Even DMM-Kadiri-Pakala MG line exists at 1900 it self.
6. Some other link like VSKP-VZM-Raipur , BZA-Machilipatanam, BZA-GNT-NANDYAL-GNT built before 1947 it self.
So what built in this 110 years is GNT-Bibinagar chord , NS-BZA chord lines only. Our AP rail network only 18.9 in that 85% built almost 100 years back only. That we are in between north and south states that's why we got those lines.
Here is the railway line density is highest in Delhi (138.2) followed by West Bengal (43.4), Punjab (41.6), Haryana (36.1), Bihar (35.9), Uttar Pradesh (35.8), Tamil Nadu (32.1), Assam (31.9), Kerala (27), Gujarat (26.9) and Jharkhand (24.3).
— Among the major states outside North, east states Maharashtra (17.9) and Andhra Pradesh (18.9). Luckily Maharastra and Karnataka have many on going good projects. But Ap most of them in papers only.
I am attaching 1909 railway map for your reference. Check what are all tracks present in AP at that time it self.
