@ A passenger can also hand over the application to the commercial division of the zonal railways concerned with the reason to travel written clearly on it. In case of terminally ill patients, the application should be accompanied with the doctor's certificate.
@ Mostly, those actually needing a seat get one from EQ. It is the right of a passenger and railways might find it tough to deny. Only that application claiming EQ should reach the office concerned on time. Secondly, it is also important that an application has been written convincingly accompanying all documents of proof. In case it does not need a proof, it should be reasonable enough to highlight the requirement.
@ At last, securing a seat will depend on how many seats are available under EQ on that particular train and how many passengers have already applied for it. Moreover, how many of these passengers have a more urgent reason to travel than you. Though there is no parameter fixed to decide the priority, reservation under EQ should be given to those who have a genuine urgent reason.
However, existence of EQ does not mean that worries of waitlisted passengers have ended. How many times the seats allocated under EQ are distributed as per the rules and how many times genuine-demands get noticed is a point to consider..... ""
