Sahyadri express is probably the slowest train in kolhapur-mumbai route.It takes 13 hours to cover a distance of 516 kms.! but a super train for railfanning and for sleep lovers too. :p
Daily passengers from pune try to grab a seat.
I travelled on this train on 21 november 2018 from kolhapur to thane.I m not new on this train, though.The first time i travelled on this train was on 2006 but from Mumbai to kolhapur.

on 2nd ac.Here are my few observations:-
Punctuality:-Don't worry if this train gets late enroute.Thanks to huge slack,this train always arrives pune 10 mins before time to 15 mins maximum late.From pune to mumbai,it takes around 5 hours to complete the journey.A pune wdm3d hauls the train from kolhapur to pune and from pune to mumbai wcam2p/3 of kalyan takes charge.
Cleanliness:-Excellent.Toilet was top notch and being 2A,it was cleaned much more good.
Food:-No dinner avaible.Make sure you pack from hotel itself.For breakfast veg cutlet/omlette/idli vada are avaible.
Avability:-Purchase tickets upto atleast one month in advance as punekars prefer this train first.From pune onwards train is empty generally.
Railfanning:-Awesome train.Faces the daily wrath of overtakes by Deccan queen,pragati express etc.Some other trains like sc ltt durunto,ypr jp suvidha too overtake this train.
