If UBL needed a daily train, SWR could have started a new train from UBL to NZM. Why a Bangalore Delhi train should be taken to Hubli?
Some can argue that this is the best way to connect Karnataka towns to Delhi.

If railways are really interested in improving connectivity of Karnataka towns to Delhi, they should start a new

train from Mangalore to Delhi via Madgaon, Hubli, Kacheguda. Though a roundabout route, this provides a dedicated train from coastal Karnataka to Northern Karnataka, Hyderabad, Nagpur, etc. Distance can be covered in 40-42 hours, just like Mangala Lakshadweep express.

When Hubli lost a small link train, prestigious Sampark Kranti is diverted. But when Mangalore lost its originating train Mangala express, no compensation was given!. Can someone explain?

For Hubli to Ahmed nagar, Shirdi, a train should start from Hubli. Similarly, KSK via Pune is also not doing justice. It should run via KYN, BRC,, Kota instead of longer CR route. When Pune can have Delhi trains via Vadodara, why not allow a passing train in that route?

In my opinion, Bangalore Delhi trains should run either via Pune, Vadodara or via KCG, Nagpur. Zig Zag should be strictly avoided. Unfortunately we can only discuss in this group, but reality would be different.

they are planning to run another private train in future with same schedule as erstwhile 16249/50. Though I' doubtful if the private train will have SL coaches.

The reality is interior Karnataka doesn't really need these many trains to Delhi. Not many will travel to Delhi in this train from interior Karnataka, but I'm rather happy that Davangere, Haveri, Hubli, Hospet got a good train to Hyderabad and finally a direct train to Nagpur.
Anyways the Hyderabad-Delhi connectivity for this train is still undisturbed and its just the Bengaluru connectivity. But this too is being compensated by the new daily private train from third Terminal with faster schedule. So its not really a loss for anyone and rather a good decision for Interior KA

Mangalore (MAQ) had a originating train daily to Delhi. As such, it had good quota for MAQ. It was running via SRR, BZA, NGP. Subsequent to Konkan line introduction, it was made to originate from Ernakulam and pass through MAJN (on the outskirts of Mangalore) and further to Madgaon, Panvel, Nasik, Bhopal.

Here MAJN has very little allocation of quota seats. One has to book from Kerala stations like ERS, CLT, CAN. Mangalore lost it's daily connectivity to Renigunta, BZA, NGP, etc.

Name Mangala express changed to Mangala Lakshadweep express.

Till this date, there is no remedy. Mangalore is used for only Kerala bound trains. No train to anywhere in Karnataka state, except one train to Bangalore.

The point I was trying to emphasize is that due to operational necessities, if a train is diverted from a place, it is not fair to divert a popular train running from another location. In this case, better alternatives were available, but chose the worst one.

As already discussed, a train from Hubli or Mysore could have been given. For Hyderabad to Delhi, why Karnataka Sampark Kranti required? There should be Telengana originating train. I have nothing against any place.
TN SK originates covers half of the state. Kerala SK is a superb one for the state. AP SK originates from Tirupati and not even touching state capital, but covers good area in AP. But Karnataka SK (Via KCG) which was good only for Bangalore became good for southern Karnataka and worst for Bangalore!!

Hope the point is clear.
