Olympic Special:: WAP-4 vs WAP-7 Thrilling race!! Shaktipunj chases Sealdah Rajdhani!!!
.
.
Just sit back and enjoy the thrilling race between the WAP- 4 and WAP- 7. With the Olympics doing the rounds in the mouth of everyone, the Indian and the Switz pair also decided to join the fun.
Dancing
...
30222 GZB (Ghaziabad) WAP- 7 synchronizes its heels with the dancing wipers while heading the bang on time running 21 coach long Queen of ER, aka 12314 New Delhi (NDLS)- Sealdah (SDAH) RAJDHANI Express through the Down Reverse line at Belmuri station on HB Chord enroute. And while doing so, it honks madly to the crazy two-legged freak, and furiously accelerates after clearing a TSR zone. And breathing down the neck of it was the 6 hours late running HWH WAP- 4 hauled 11447 Jabalpur (JBP)- Howrah (HWH) SHAKTIPUNJ Express, which was doing fairly high speed through the Down main line.
Sealdah Rajdhani uses the Sealdah- Asansol- Dhanbad- Gaya- Mughal Sarai- Allahabad- Kanpur- New Delhi route.
Shaktipunj uses the Howrah- Burdwan- Asansol- Dhanbad- Barkakana- Daltonganj- Chopan- Katni- Jabapur route.

yes..i know the only thing to be thankful in ASN-KIUL section is poorva express..if this route takes a bit long time.it doesnt mean that it should be deprived of good trains.it rather means this route need little more attention.yes u are right we can come to ASN-KIUL for better connectivity.we often do so.but thats not possible everytime.nor railway has any such dedicated chains.atleast one daily SF train required for NDLS via this route.pressure on poorva is huge.rajdhani only weekly doesnt help much.
its not the matter for only delhi bound trains.even for major big cities, this route lacks regular connectivity.

Look Sabya Da...here ur justification is almost correct but I want to point out a few things...The Extra 2 Hr 50 mts which you're talking about the main line,is not justified at all...In fact last week I noticed in Simran that HWH Raj(12305) reached PNBE almost 35 mts b/t & it was staggering around Fatuha as it was way before its time .Also at MGS,it was b/t by about 50 mts...So if these two are included then at least 2 Hr can be saved & then the time difference b/w Grand Chord & Main Line would remain only 40 mts(which was HWH Raj's actual speed when it used to leave HWH @ 16.15)..Then I dont think people would have any discrimination in their mind about the time difference b/w Main Line & Chord.

& For ur justification, all that I need to say that people are coming to catch their connecting train from as far as 1500 km & even availing Onward Journey..For Jasidih people nearest major RailHead Asansol is only 111 km & PNBE is only 220 km..So that shouldnt be a problem anyways

I think those are One in a 5 days that u'll see so much of BT for those 2 stations.
usually it's 20 mins BT at PNBE and RT at MGS but then slacks are there till PNBE because IR knows that a train can get late between ASN-PNBE and they dont want any RAJ to get more late due to schedule constraint.Hence Slacks are given as such.

if IR is too keen to save time..then trains can be started from ASN also..3 hours between HWH-ASN will be saved if it is so necessary..but diverting all trains via grand chord seems a discrimination.i mean 2 rajdhanis daily from there and just one radhani weekly from this route.2 trains for rajasthan daily via grand and a single one from main line..many such examples..just to save 2 hours..not justified to me.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
