Though off topic, I cannot resist myself from congratulating one of the grand daddies of Madras (Chennai), the seat of metropolitan corporation, The Ripon Building on its centenary today.

The Ripon Building was commissioned in 1913. Built in Indo-Saracenic style by Shri. Loganatha Mudaliar, it took four years at a cost of INR 7,50,000. It is named after Lord Ripon, Governor-General of British India and the Father of local self-government. One cannot miss this iconic white building that's juxtaposed to the Chennai Central complex. In this picture, one can exactly see that: The Ripon Building on the left, The Victoria Public Hall (older than Ripon) in the middle, and the multistoried Chennai Central Moore Market Complex on the extreme right.
