The joint feasibility study by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Government of India on Mumbai-Ahmedabad high speed corridor has been completed in July 2015.
The salient features of feasibility report on Mumbai-Ahmedabad high speed corridor are:
o Total length of corridor – 508 kms.
o 12 stations between Mumbai and Sabarmati (Mumbai, Thane, Virar, Boisar, Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad,
o The total journey time of 2.07 hrs for a fast train and of 2.58 hrs for trains stopping at each station.
o Total completion cost estimated at approximately ₹ 97,636 crore (including price escalation, Interest during construction (IDC) and import duties).
o Project implementation time of approximately seven years from commencement of construction.
According to the report the Internal Rate of Return of the project is estimated as 4% and Economic Internal Rate of Return as 11.8%.
This Press Release is based on information given by the Minister of State for Railways Shri Manoj Sinha in a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha on 06.05.2016 (Friday).

Bharuch has two industrial estates of Ankleshwar and Nandesari nearby, and would attract business travellers. Plus a lot of traders travel from Bharuch to Mumbai regularly, who may prefer using the bullet train for quick travel.
Whats more surprising is the inclusion of Billimora and omission of Valsad

Thanks guys but I feel the population as per 2011 census doesn't encourage for a stoppage at Bharuch. No offences to anyone, would be happy if it's a viable stoppage.

Bharuch has a population of > 2.23 lakhs as per 2011 census, which is more than Anand (~ 2.01 lakhs) and Vapi (~1.63 lakhs). What's so discouraging about that? In contrast, Bilimora has a population of ~53000 and Boisar ~35000. [Source: click here

Consequent to the revision in timings of train nos. 17317/17318 Hubballi-Lokamanya Tilak Terminus (LTT)-Hubballi Express, the Central Railway has notified the revision in timings of train No. 11097 Pune-Ernakulam Jn. Poorna Weekly Express with effect from March 19.
A release from South Western Railway here said the train would leave Pune at 11.30 p.m. instead of 11.10 p.m. on Saturdays and arrive at Ernakulam Jn. at 8.10 a.m. instead of 3.25 a.m. on Mondays. At present, the train takes 28 hours 15 minutes to cover 1,281 km distance. The journey gets extended by over 4 hours after the change in timings.
detailed revised timings (arrival/departure) of Train No. 11097 Pune-Ernakulam Jn. Poorna Express in Karnataka and Goa are as follows. 1. Fastest and slowest train: The Niligiri Express which runs at a speed of 10km/h is the slowest train in the country. The New Delhi-Bhopal Shatabdi Express at an average speed og 91km/h is the fastest train.
2. Longest and shortest route: In terms of time and distance, Vivek Express from Dibrugarh to Kanyakumari is the longest route as it travels 4,273 km, while distance between Nagpur and Ajni is
just 3 km, making it shortest route.

After months of delays, the largest industrial area in the city, and perhaps even South India, gets a spot on the Metro Map.
The services on the Reach 3B extension of Namma Metro between Nagasandra (Close to Bangalore International Exhibition Centre) and Peenya Industrial Area Phase I was launched here on May 1. The new stations added are: Peenya Industry, Jalahalli Cross, Darasarahalli and Nagasandra.
The addition of four stations along the 3.4 km extension will now see commuters able to travel 10.5 kms between Mantri Square on Sampige Road station and Nagasandra
within 25 minutes.
After flagging off the services, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said the entire 42.5km metro network will be thrown open by March 2016. “Moreover, tender bidding for works on 72-km under Phase II will be finalised within a few days,” he said.
Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu said the Union was placing emphasis on developing metro networks in cities across the country. “The eligibility for approval has been lowered to a city of population more than 10 lakh, instead of 20 lakh,” he said.
The formal programme at Peenya depot of the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL) saw a couple of protests interrupting speeches. Many held placards and shouted slogans against the project for having failed to provide “basic facilities” of toilets and drinking water at the stations.
“May Day” on November 1
Perhaps it was the incessant evening drizzle and cool nights that confused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. During the inauguration of Reach 3B of Namma Metro on Friday, the Chief Minister repeatedly referred to ‘May Day’ as being on November 1. “On November 1 today, we celebrate May Day, and we need to remember our pledge to labourers,” he said to suppressed laughter from the audience. Immediately there was another reference to November instead of May.

SWR- HQ hubli something to cheer after long long time People of this region have limited trains towords. Mumbai
DIvisons of CR ,for example solapur has better connectivity and trains to bangalore and mumbai and rest of parts of the country
and Pallkkad divsion of SR have better train connectivity compared to Hubli - SWR HQ.
Being HQ HUBLi should have better train connectvity to any parts of the country
People of this region want at least better connectivity towards cities like bijapur mangalore gulburga /bidar / shimoga /mysore,
In recent past IR and ex-RM current RM have done good efforts to narrow the gap but for growing population this is not enough.
railways should plan in such a way that people should get proper connectivity with existing train rakes
YPR jn is cogesting with mor trains arriviing at this jn
Earlier in MG times cBE- kurla was upto bangalore only they extended it upto CBE
SBC-CBE extended upto ernakulum
Why not some trains from YPR should be atleast extended upto tier two cities like MANGALORE /shimoga chitradurga / bellary/ even chickmagaglur also so that people of this region also get better train facilities travel towards their capital city.

ಮೇಲ್ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಯಮ 68ರ ಅಡಿ ನಡೆದ ಚರ್ಚೆಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯಿಸಿ ''ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ತ್ವರಿತಗೊಳಿಸಲು 18 ಯೋಜನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರಕಾರದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಂದ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು, ಉಚಿತ ಭೂಮಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಶೇ.50ರಷ್ಟು ಹಣ ನೀಡಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಬೊಕ್ಕಸಕ್ಕೆ ಅಂದಾಜು 5500 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ. ಹೊರೆ ಬೀಳುತ್ತದೆ. ಜತೆಗೆ 14 ಸಾವಿರ ಎಕರೆ ಜಮೀನು ಕೊಡಬೇಕಿದ್ದು, ಕಾಮಗಾರಿ ವಿಳಂಬ ಆದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಜನಾ ವೆಚ್ಚ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಹಿಗ್ಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಅನಗತ್ಯ ಹೊರೆ ತಾಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಶಕ್ತಿ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲ,'' ಎಂದರು.
ಸರಕಾರ 2013-14ನೇ ಬಜೆಟ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ 373 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ., ಪೂರಕ ಬಜೆಟ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ 100 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ. ಹಾಗೂ 2014-15ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನ ಬಜೆಟ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ 540 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ. ಅನುದಾನ ಒದಗಿಸಿದೆ. ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಮೊತ್ತವನ್ನು ಭರಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗದ ಕಾರಣ ಒಪ್ಪಂದವನ್ನು ಪುನರ್ ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆ ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಬಜೆಟ್ ಮುನ್ನವೆ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಸಚಿವ ಸದಾನಂದಗೌಡರಿಗೆ ಪತ್ರ ಬರೆದಿದ್ದೆ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯೊಂದರಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದಿರುವ ವರದಿ ಆಧಾರ ರಹಿತ,'' ಎಂದು ಪ್ರತಿಪಾದಿಸಿದರು.
''ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಇಲಾಖೆಯೆ ಜಾರಿ ಮಾಡುವುದರಿಂದ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಗೆ ತಗಲುವ ವೆಚ್ಚವನ್ನು ರೈಲ್ವೆಯೆ ಭರಿಸಬೇಕು. ಆದರೆ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸಹಿತ ಒಂಬತ್ತು ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವೆಚ್ಚ ಹಂಚಿಕೆ ಆಧಾರಿತ ಯೋಜನೆ ಜಾರಿ ಮಾಡುವ ಪದ್ಧತಿ ಇದೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಪದ್ಧತಿ ಅನ್ಯ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆರಳೆಣಿಕೆಯಷ್ಟಿದ್ದರೆ ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಉಚಿತ ಜಮೀನು, ಹಣ ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ದೇಶಾದ್ಯಂತ ಸಮಾನ ನೀತಿ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಕಾರಣ ಒಪ್ಪಂದ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಭೂಮಿ ವೆಚ್ಚವೂ ಸೇರಿ 2/3 ಅಥವಾ 1/3ನೇ ಭಾಗದ ಮೊತ್ತ ಅಥವಾ ಪೂರ್ಣ ವೆಚ್ಚ ಭರಿಸುವಂತೆ ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ,'' ಎಂದರು.
ಸರಕಾರದ ನಿರ್ಧಾರ ತಪ್ಪು
''1995-96ರಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನೇ ಹಣಕಾಸು ಸಚಿವನಾಗಿದ್ದ ವೇಳೆ ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ವೆಚ್ಚ ಹಂಚಿಕೆ ಪದ್ಧತಿ ಆರಂಭವಾದರೂ ಒಂದೆರಡು ಯೋಜನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಸೀಮಿತವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಇದು ಎಸ್.ಎಂ.ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಸಿಎಂ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲೂ ಮುಂದುವರಿದರೂ, 2010ರಿಂದೀಚಿಗೆ ಉಚಿತ ಭೂಮಿ ನೀಡುವ ಪರಿಪಾಠ ಆರಂಭವಾಗಿದೆ. ಕೋಲಾರ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೋಗಿ ತಯಾರಿಕೆ ಘಟಕಕ್ಕೆ ಶೇ.50ರಷ್ಟು ವೆಚ್ಚ ಹಾಗೂ 400 ಎಕರೆ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಉಚಿತವಾಗಿ ನೀಡುವ ಒಪ್ಪಂದವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಯಾದಗಿರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಘಟಕಕ್ಕೆ ಉಚಿತ ಭೂಮಿ ನೀಡಬೇಕಿದೆ. ಇಂತಹ ನಿರ್ಧಾರ ಯಾರದೇ ಸರಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೈಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದರೂ ತಪ್ಪು,'' ಎಂದು ನಿಲುವು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
''ಮೈಸೂರು-ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಮಧ್ಯೆ ವೇಗದ ರೈಲು ಸಂಚಾರ ಆರಂಭಿಸುವಂತೆ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಸಚಿವರಿಗೆ ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರೂ, ಆ ರೈಲನ್ನು ಚೆನ್ನೈವರೆಗೂ ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದರ ಬದಲು ಎರಡು ನಗರಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಸಂಚರಿಸಿದರೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಉಪಯೋಗ ಆಗಲಿದೆ. ಇದು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಮೇಲಿನ ಹೊರೆ ತಪ್ಪಿಸುವಂತೆ ಕೋರಲು ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಬಳಿಗೆ ನಿಯೋಗ ತೆರಳಲು ಸಿದ್ಧ. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ನಾಯಕರು ಸಹಕರಿಸಲಿ,'' ಎಂದು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು.
ವಾಗ್ದಾನ ಮರೆಯದಿರಿ
ಹಿಂದೆ ಕೈಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ನಿರ್ಧಾರವನ್ನು ಬದಲಿಸಿದರೆ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಇಲಾಖೆ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾವನೆಗೆ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಭಾವಿಸಿ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳದಿರುವ ಆತಂಕ ಎದುರಾಗಿದೆ. ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಒಪ್ಪಂದ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಅನುದಾನ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಿದೆ.

The former Railway Minister M. Mallikarjun Kharge has defended his decision not to effect an increase in passenger fares and said the decision was taken not with an eye on the election but in the overall interests of the travelling public.
Referring to the statement made Railway Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda that he had put him in a fix over the issue of effecting a hike in passenger fares, Mr. Kharge told The Hindu that revising fares was a routine matter in the Railways and “if the new government at the Centre wants to run the trains without revising the fares, they are free to do so”. There is no compulsion to increase passenger fares, but the Railways would have to take
into account the mounting wage bill and other issues, he said.
He said the delay in forming the Rail Fare Authority was also one of the reasons for not revising passenger fares. “The Rail Fare Authority is now in place and the new Railway Minister should initiate measures to appoint a chairman and members so that they can start their work and recommend revision of passenger fares, if necessary,” he said.
He said he had full faith in Mr. Gowda continuing the major railway projects taken up by the UPA government. He should also take measures to increase the railway density in Karnataka, which was very low when compared to other States.
Mr. Kharge said during his short span of 11 months as Railway Minister, he had taken up many projects and all of them, except the Rail Coach Factory in Kolar, have been given budgetary support, and it is the duty of the new government to continue financial support to these projects and enable its completion at the earliest.
Asked whether he would meet Mr. Gowda and seek continued financial support to the projects taken up by the earlier government, Mr. Kharge replied in the affirmative, and said he would also write a detailed letter in this regard to Mr. Gowda.
Besides providing at least Rs. 100 crore to the Gulbarga-Bidar new line to enable its completion this year, the new Railway Minister should attach importance to the doubling of the Bangalore-Dharmavaram and Bangalore-Mysore lines to enable the origination of new trains from Mysore, he said.

The Hindu in a report in which Newly elected Mayor of Belgaum City Corporation Mahesh K. Naik has indicated early commencement of works on construction of railway over bridges on Kapileshwar temple road and old Pune-Bangalore road in the city.The report further says- he and MLA Sambhaji Patil had recently met Minister for Infrastructure Development, Information and Haj Roshan Baig at Bangalore and urged him to take up the construction of two bridges at the earliest. The minister, who had inspected the problems during his visit to the city in January, assured to do his best to take up the works as soon as possible.
Though there was a long-due demand for the construction of a railway over bridge across the first
railway gate, the traffic congestion was very often on Kapileshwar temple and old P.B. Roads.

We need to bring all these issues to our New RM and his secretary as CR does these tactics purposefully. Already 5 crore was sanctioned for Division Building in Nov/Dec 2013 Interim Budget. And SUR division called for Tenders for construction.. and when Model Code of Conduct was put for General Elections immiediately SUR/CR cancelled the Tender without any further notice...

Kulkarni avre, I had gone through the links. There is a chance that it might have been cancelled as the decision of creating new division was announced. So its difficult to conclude that on the basis of cancellation of the tender alone. But you are right sir, we need to bring it to the notice of new RM and try to get related documents through RTI. We need to create awareness among civil society, sustain pressure and shall keep track on further developments in this regard.

Yes Patil avre, And not only that all work has been stopped in GR station which was given to CR. But the works given to SCR is going in full swing as Sultanpur station is getting ready at fast pace which is done by SCR. And the ROBs which CR was doing has been stopped.
Also the OSD Mr Reddy visited only once to GR station... If SWR is serious to get GR division under SWR it need to speed up the work else GR division may goto SCR also... there are slim chances of that.
GR has seen enough of bad treatment under CR ... its time get come out of it soon and very soon else miseries will not stop!
