I'd bookd a tkt from dhn to DLI in 3rd ac fr 2 persons. It was w8listed. On the day of jurny' tkt was partially cnfrmd. One person trvld. Consulted the the who asked to get a gnrl tkt n pay some fyn of rs 1800;and trvl sharing the seat with person. I filed d tdr but it was rejected with some reason m unable to collect.
Is it like TTE has misguided me or I was wrong smwhr.

Can you bit clear please,you have told for one pax ticket is CNF & that pax traveled why then TTE will ask for fine & share berth...Is it that both have traveled by sharing berth??

Out of two waitlist, one berth was confirmed. so that guy travelled, but the other one whose berth was not confirmed, had to travel. for the purpose he purchased a general ticket and paid a fine of rs 1800, and tte asked the person to share berth with the passenger whose berth was confirmed. This was illogical, but since he had to travel, he had no option but to pay.
TDR for w8listed ticket is also cancelled.
Where was I at fault?

TDR filled after 2 hrs then no refund for confirmed ticket...

No refund of fare shall be admissible on RAC e-tickets in case the request for refund is filed online after three hours of the actual departure of the train.
In case on a party e-ticket or a family e-ticket issued for travel of more than one person, some persons have confirmed reservation and others are on the list of RAC and waiting list, then in case of passengers on RAC or waitlisted not travelling, a certificate has to be obtained from the ticket checking staff to that effect and refund of fare shall be processed online through TDR, indicating the details of the certificate issued by ticket checking staff.

Actually the second passenger can share the berth along with first passenger with the partially CNF ticket upon acceptance by TTE...Since he has not accepted that he should have issued a Non-traveled certificate to the second pax and the certificate is needed for filling TDR.Please read the below instructions mentioned in the E-ticket itself.
