main Bottle neck is at Visakhapatnam Outer. GPT to VSKP outer track fit for 80 kmph.
At GPT where HWH,MAS line connected at that connection MPS 30 kmph. If these two eliminated then Huge tome can be saved.
Railways has enough place to lay another 2-3 tracks here but neglected

May be a TSR for some time. Its 30 kmph at crossing as i my self there at that location when working going on last time.
VSKP outer means Kancharapalem bridge only. From there 2 tracks suddenly becomes 8. Needs more tracks there else 2 tracks via coaching complex can directly join at GPT as already land is there.

even if we get third and fourth line, the MPS wont be changed much as there are lot of switching of tracks to be done to go in and out of PF's. and 15-20kmph is the max you find in any big junctions ...so on that front cant change much

Another problem for train no. 18516 is the route from KDJR to DPS. In the present time table, time from KDJR to NYG, distance of 32 km has been kept 50 mins, from NYG to BSPX, distance of 24 km, 45 mins and from BSPX to DPS, distance of 32 km, 60 mins. This has been kept for a reason. There is speed restriction in this section due to too many sharp curves and trains are given maximum speed permission of only 40 kmph. Actually trains travel at 30 kmph speed only in this section. The train 07438, KCG- TATA Express has been kept a time of 38 Mins to travel from BSPX to DPS. But in practice it never travelled this distance below 60 Mins. What I mean is that until the section is modified and NOC is given for higher speeds, the trains will travel at the speed of...

But I feel that in practise the train will run taking the same time as it takes now and reach TATA after 11:30 am. Taking note of the slow execution of infrastructure projects, the Prime Minister's Office has asked the Railways to speed up the electrification work and laying of new tracks.

asked the Railways to speed up the electrification work and laying of new tracks. In a letter to Chairman Railway Board A K Mital, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Nripendra Misra said “You are aware of the focus of the government towards the development and modernisation of facilities in railways”. Electrification and doubling, including laying of the new tracks, are crucial for the expansion of rail network. Doubling is laying of another set of rail tracks along the existing route which enables its decongestion. However, PMO has observed that the project execution in electrification and doubling were below the target by the end of the year 2016.
“While reviewing the progress up to 2016, against the target of 1500 km of doubling, only 531 km has been achieved. In electrification, against the target of 2000 route km, only 1,210 km has been achieved by the railways,” Misra has stated in the letter written on January 31.

Woke up 20 yrs late when NHAI was formed to execute golden quadrilateral of 6000km of NH to 4 lanes they should have constituted IR to take Quardrapuled the existing double tracks connecting 4 metros estimating the growth of country due to globalization liberelisation. By now 10000km of track could have been 4 tracks.

Auto upgradation is possible on waiting list ticket or confirmed ticket....or both....??? If I book ticket in general waiting list 70 in sleeper class and opt for upgradation then will my ticket get upgrade or it'll get into RAC....??? Is it possible to penalize a passenger boarding a reserved 2S coach in an Express train(say an Intercity Express), with an unreserved II class ticket (applicable to the same train for travel in Unreserved coach)?
If yes, what is the maximum amount that can be realized as fine?
Though the difference in fare was just the reservation charge, saw a TTE warning such passengers with fine upto Rs. 300/-. Hence just curious to know if such a fine is possible.

I travel in janmabhoomi exp Vskp SC in general sitting coaches reserved. Lot of unreserved travellers board the reserved coaches and all the corridors are filled. TTE checks the tickets and if someone is seated in reserved coach he collects rs 15 as reservation fee and gives an receipt and doesn't Ccollect any amount from standing travllers . Never saw TTE asking or warning fine of rs 300. I think its possible to collect as unreserved cannot travel in reserve coaches and are liable to be penalize fine.

Yrs u can get seat as they are 6 coaches but make sure u reach the platform by the time train is parked on platform. So at least 45-60 min before dep time.

Bengaluru-Hassan rail line took 21 years to be completed and cost almost Rs 1,300 crore, three times the cost of launching ISRO's Mars mission
One must congratulate all the Railways ministers of India and the governments of Karnataka between 1996 and 2017 for the completion of the Hassan-Bengaluru broad gauge line via Shravanabelagola.
However, it took almost 21 years to complete and cost of the project was four times the initial sanctioned amount due to delay in implementation. The safety inspection was conducted recently, and commercial operations may begin soon.
website of the South Western Railways pegs the total cost of 167-km line at Rs 1,289.92 of crore, three times the cost of India's Mars Orbiter Mission (Rs 450 crore).
The railway line was the dream project of former prime minister HD Devegowda, who represents the Hassan Lok Sabha constituency.
The line was sanctioned during his stint as prime minister in 1996-97 with an initial estimated cost of Rs 295 crore, as per the original sanctioned pink book cost.
However, the final cost went up as much as four times of that estimation.
According to the pink book, 8 km of tracks was to be constructed per year with each kilometer costing Rs7.72 crore.
Of the total 167 km of the total project length, the 44 km track between Hassan and Shravanabelagola was commissioned in 2006 during Mahamastakabhishekha of Bahubali, and work between Nelamangala and Chikkabanavara (off Bengaluru) of 14 km was completed in 2013 (a total of 58 km for both work) and took 17 years.
On calculation, it comes out that a shocking 0.30 km of work per year was done in these two stretches.
Railways sources told BM that the commissioner for railway safety has conducted a statutory inspection of the section from Nelamangala to Shravanabelagola between February 6 and 10, including speed run trial which shows a possible 120 km per hour speed.
The sections from Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna Station (KSR), Bengaluru and Nelamangala on the one end, and Hassan and Shravanabelagola on the other end have already been commissioned for passenger traffic.
The remaining stretch from Nelamangala to Shravanabelagola will be started after authorisation by the commissioner for railway safety, probably by the end of this month.
Speaking on the delay,rail expert Sanjeev V Dyamannanavar said, “The cost got escalated due to Karnataka government's failure to acquire land in required time. Another reason for the delay was the alignment issues. Initially, the railway line was to pass through Vijay Mallya owned stud farm. However, following objections, Railways decided to go for re-alignment to save the stud farm. However, the farmers who were about to lose the land due to the re-alignment then approached court which ruled in their favour and directed the court to go for the alignment over Kunigal stud farm. At least five years was lost in this.Now, to recover the huge investment, the Railways have to convert Hassan into a railway hub by running trains from different parts of the state, otherwise it would become a non-profitable line like the Chikkamagaluru-Kadur or ChikkaballapurKolar lines. Even the freight traffic should be routed to Mangaluru port using Hassan railway line.“
It may also be recalled as to how Hassan-Shravanabelagola train service was operational in 2007 itself and there was a night train from Shravanabelogala to Bengaluru via Hassan and Arasikere. The train would leave Shravanabelagola in the night and reach Bengaluru in the morning (while the road route would take a couple of hours) and subsequently the train was discontinued.
Tunnel thrill
Adding to the glory of the track between Bengaluru and Mangaluru, the line will have a tunnel constructed at Marur village in Biskur forest area between Nelamangala and Kunigal. The passengers will be enthralled to travel in tunnel that is almost 30 metres below the ground level. The tunnel will be one kilometer long in an area where the forest is not so dense. It will be the closest rail tunnel to Bengaluru.
Distance and journey time reduced
The take-off point for the new line is Chikbanavar on Bengaluru-Tumakuru BG line. Chikbanavar is 13 kms from KSR Bengaluru City Railway station.The distance from Chikbanavar to Nelamangala is 14 km. Two pairs of trains are currently running between KSR Bengaluru City and Nelamangala.
The much awaited line will reduce the distance between Bengaluru and Hassan by 50 km via Arsikere and about 87 km via Mysuru. With distance being reduced, the journey time between these two junctions will be reduced by one hour. The passengers commuting to Mangaluru will also enjoy the benefit of distance being reduced by 50 km via Arsikere and 107 km via Mysuru.
This is a cost sharing project between the government of Karnataka and Ministry of Railways.
Blame game on for Whitefield-Kolar railway line project
The Whitefield-Kolar railway line is all set to take the route of Hassan-Bengaluru railway line via Shravanabelagola, as it seems it is going to take a long time to be completed and the initial estimate costs might go through the roof.
The railway line of 52 km between Whitefield and Kolar was sanctioned in the 2011-12 Railways budget for Rs 343 crore, with a cost sharing system between Indian Railways and the government of Karnataka.
The project is likely to take decades to finish as the physical progress of the project is shown as `Nil' on the Railways website.
Speaking to Bangalore Mirror, Ashok Gupta, chief administrative officer (construction), Bangalore Railway Division said, “There has not been any progress as the state government still has not allotted the required land of 831 acres.“

NH too face land acquisitions like railways and are not completed in time. They too take 1-2 yrs for land acquisitions and project competition takes 36-48 months though the stipulated time is 30months after handing over land. Total project will take 60 months and cost overruns.
