RMs with long tenure get judged on reforms, but short term ones like Mr. Kharge are judged by few things he did that had a long-lasting consequences in a particular area.
-
The Bidar-Kalaburagi region is one of those perennially struggling regions in India. His contribution to that place may not get him accolades in virtual world, but on the ground, the few things he did has forever made him an icon there.
-
...

1. The Bidar-Bengaluru train: Bidar-Aurad-Bhalki all these regions were struggling with no hope for any improvement in connectivity to their capital. By introducing this train, it has become the lifeline of that region for the impoverished to migrate to their capital for work in times of drought. The already existing Nanded train was always full by the time it reached Bidar. They also credit him with the influence he used to get Bidar-Hyderabad ICE.
-
2. Bidar-Kalaburagi line: This was pending for decades with no funds. Now with the push he gave, it set to complete next year.
-
3. A train from Kalaburagi to state capital: A separate train, much needed for the Hyderabad-Karnatak region, was started. But from SUR because of lack of facilities for maintenance at GR. When he became RM, he sanctioned a couple of pitlines for GR, but still it starts from SUR, also just 1 pitline was built. Anyway, it is still something. An ICE to HYB was announced too. That was started at unpopular timings, then cancelled, then again started at same flop timings. A botch up. But something he initiated, has helped a lot for the region.
-
4. A division for GR: This was as usual done by most RMs. It would have been better to shift GR to SCR or make few changes for trains/seat allocations under CR-SUR. A bigger and higher revenue generating region like GR needs a few trains but being under SUR was always a problem.
-
5. Harihara-Hosapete line: Another line languishing for want of funds saw the light under him. Partially open. The rest - work is on, but hopefully some day it will open too. This mostly thru Ballari region is another backward region.
-
6. Yadgir coach factory: The most backward district of KA. Though this isn't his constituency (GR) or birthplace (Bidar), he did something to generate some income for the locals of this place.
-
Like other RMs it would seem he has done a lot for his constituency; but the truth is that he did it for a region which is most backward in all aspects, so this was welcome. For these small measures he is revered in that region as someone who did something when no one else cares for them.
============================
-
Khajuraho-Lalitpur: this is one line which is a major step in bringing down the backwardness of Bundelkhand region. Whosoever RM worked for that line connectivity deserves accolades.

First AC electric locomotive to break into the scene of Indian Railway with Road Number 20202 -- built by Siemens, Brown-Boveri, Alsthom, Krupp, Kraus-Maffei, Schneider-Westinghouse, La Brugeoise Et Nivelle, SFAC (Group for Study & Electrification of Railways at Single Phase 50 cycles). It was imported in November 1958 by the Indian Railways and was dedicated to service of the nation on 1st January 1959. It marked the introduction and advent of 25 KV AC traction on the Indian Railway Map. This four axled, 74 ton loco comes with Bo-Bo bogie type arrangement, powered by 2840 hp engine, Spring-borne Force-ventilated fully suspended AEC-Alstom- Siemens MG 710A traction motors, Monomotor bogies with air brakes for loco & vacuum train brakes as original equipment. Regenerative braking was also provided while the motors are permanently connected in parallel. Speed was controlled by transformer taps. Also four water-cooled Ignitrons Rectifiers were present. This loco was fitted...

with Faiveley AM-12 pantos.
Christened as 'Jagjivan Ram' after the then railway minister Shri Jagjivan Ram who inaugurated this loco. Kanpur was the first shed to host this loco which was later transferred to Asansol. On November 25, 1960, it hauled a special train for the congress of ECAFE (Economic Commission for Asia and Far-East) from Asansol to Pathardih via Pradhankhunta. The locomotive hauled various prestigious trains of Eastern Railway including Howrah-Delhi Kalka Mail, Coal Field Express, Black Diamond Express and Deluxe Express (rechristened as Poorva Express) on the Howrah-Asansol- Dhanbad-Mughalsarai route. It covered a total of 38,75,000 km till the end of its service life on October 22nd, 1997.
To celebrate 50 glorious years of A.C. Electric Traction in India, this loco was revived back to life by Asansol ELS with a trial run between Asansol & Durgapur on 28th December 2009, by refurbishing the machine with restoration of its original livery. The experiment was partly successful as it came back to life and performed some shunting duties. But later it was shelved and relegated to the Howrah Railway Museum as it became part of history of evolution of AC Electric Locomotives in India.
Framed by Roy at Howrah Railway Museum on 27th June 2016.

Aur ek baat aur ki ye mt smjhna gkp ko agar future me train milti h ya abhi tk jo train h woh aap logo ki meherbani h ... balki ye utna revenue aur profit deta h IR ko aur badle me ek do train milne pe koi upkar n kia kisi ne.
