On the way to Mantralayam we stop at Gooty level crossing for a train to pass. Soon a thick cloud of smoke soared in the air and Gooty WDM-3D #11338 emerged from the vegetation and accelerated beautifully and sped past with the Tirupati-Hubli Intercity Passenger!

RPM WAP-7 #30419 slowly and gracefully gives a snaky approach to enter Jolarpettai Junction with the on time running 12608 Bangalore-Chennai Lalbagh Express. Meanwhile, my 22625 Chennai-Bangalore Double Decker Express proceeds towards its next halt at Bangarpet Junction!

Yesterday, 51 years back the legendary 12639/40 Chennai-Bangalore Brindavan Express was inaugurated. A train which was a super hit and one I have traveled on countless times. Now it stands in a poor degraded fate. Yet it continues to mesmerize.
Here is a pic taken on 3rd Sep 2015 when it crossed my Lalbagh Express somehwere near Melpatti.

A beautiful scene as Erode hunk WAP-4 #22259 makes a curvy exit out of Gooty station hauling the 12164 Chennai Egmore-Dadar Superfast. Gooty is such a calm place. I recollect my road trips to Mantralayam and we had to cross this place en route. So, the WAP-4 continues and detaches at Guntakal where PUNE WDM-3D #11369 took the duty.
It was my first trip to Mumbai and a memorable one.
