जयपुर से दिल्ली वाया सीकर ब्रॉडगेज का एक अतिरिक्त मार्ग मिल जाएगी। अभी जयपुर-बांदीकुई होते हुए दिल्ली के लिए ट्रेनों का संचालन हो रहा है। इस लाइन के आमान परिवर्तन के बाद जयपुर से रींगस, रेवाड़ी, दिल्ली के लिए भी ट्रेनों का संचालन हो सकेगा। वर्तमान मार्ग के मुकाबले नया मार्ग करीब 40 किमी छोटा होगा। इसके अलावा जयपुर से बीकानेर, हनुमानगढ़, श्रीगंगानगर के लिए भी सीधी कनेक्टिविटी हो जाएगी।

लोहारू और सीकर से चूरू रेलवे लाइन के आमान परिवर्तन के लिए 658.57 करोड़ रुपए का बजट स्वीकृत हुआ था। इसमें सीकर से लोहारू काम पूरा हो चुका है। सीकर से चूरू का काम चल रहा है। जयपुर से सीकर का काम अब शुरू होगा।
जयपुर से 14 नवंबर को अंतिम ट्रेन रात 9:05 बजे सीकर के लिए मीटर गेज की आखरी ट्रेन रवाना होगी। यह ट्रेन रात 12:20 बजे सीकर पहुंचेगी। सीकर से अंतिम ट्रेन 14 नवंबर को रात 8:05 बजे ट्रेन रवाना होगी, जो रात 11:25 बजे जयपुर पहुंचेगी।
सड़क मार्ग पर बढ़ेगा यात्री भार : जयपुर से सीकर के लिए रोजाना 14 ट्रेनों का संचालन हो रहा है। इन ट्रेनों में रोज करीब 7 हजार यात्री सफर करते हैं। इस मार्ग से ट्रेनों का संचालन बंद होने से यह यात्री भार सड़क मार्ग पर शिफ्ट हो जाएगा। ट्रेनों में सस्ते किराए सफर करने वाले इन यात्रियों को बसों के महंगे किराए में सफर करना होगा। इससे उन पर आर्थिक भार पड़ेगा।
रेलवे स्टेशन के विकास में भी मिलेगी मदद : रेलवे स्टेशन पर अभी एक प्लेटफॉर्म मीटरगेज के लिए हैं। जब मीटर गेज रेलवे लाइन ही नहीं रहेगी तो इस प्लेटफॉर्म को भी ब्रॉडगेज में बदल दिया जाएगा।
इससे स्टेशन से चलने वाली ब्रॉडगेज की ट्रेनों के लिए अतिरिक्त प्लेटफॉर्म मिल सकेगा। साथ ही स्टेशन के सभी प्लेटफार्मों में एकरूपता सकेगी इससे स्टेशन के विकास में मदद मिलेगी।

अमृतयोजना से विकास की राह चढ़ रहे सीकर से 100 साल बाद अब सीकर-जयपुर मीटर गेज की रेलवे लाइन इतिहास बन जाएगी। आमान परिवर्तन के लिए जयपुर-सीकर मार्ग की इस मीटर गेज लाइन को 15 नवंबर से बंद कर दिया जाएगा। इससे इस मार्ग पर रोजाना चल रही 14 ट्रेनों के पहिए भी थम जाएंगे। इस लाइन को हटाकर यहां ब्रॉडगेज की लाइन डाली जाएगी।
रेलवे प्रशासन ने इसकी तैयारी कर ली है। रेलवे प्रशासन का दावा है कि इस काम को अगले साल तक पूरा कर लिया जाएगा। इस पर करीब 225 करोड़ रुपए खर्च होने का अनुमान है। जयपुर से दिल्ली, सवाई माधोपुर और अजमेर रेलवे लाइन पहले ही मीटर गेज से ब्रॉडगेज में बदल चुकी है। लेकिन सीकर से जयपुर रेलवे लाइन आज तक भी मीटरगेज ही थी। लंबे समय से इस लाइन के ब्रॉडगेज में बदलने का इंतजार था। इस लाइन के आमान परिवर्तन के बाद सीकर से मीटर गेज की हमेशा के लिए विदाई हो जाएगी। 100 साल पहले 19 दिसंबर 1916 को इस लाइन का काम जयपुर से शुरू हुआ था। इसका उद्घाटन लार्ड चैम्स फोर्ड ने किया था। सबसे पहले यह लाइन जयपुर से पलसाना तक डाली गई थी। इसके बाद इसका सीकर, चूरू और लोहारू तक विस्तार हुआ।

43, a 1997-batch officer of the Indian Railway Traffic Service, will now present his idea to academicians and town planners at a global conference in MIT in September.
In a nutshell, the Caterpillar Train, or C-Train, envisages a citywide network of lightweight, elevated train coaches running at about 100 kmph on a track supported by poles bent into arches.
The idea, which won in both the popular choice and the judges’ choice categories, was picked over 500 entries from across the world at the Climate CoLab contest.
“The strength of the concept is its simplicity and its practicability. Some ideas are very good on paper, but not practicable. I guess we won because ours was both,” Upadhyaya told The Indian Express.
Posted at the Centre for Railway Information Systems in New Delhi, Upadhyaya has been developing the idea for the last few years as a PhD scholar in MIT while on study leave.
Instead of large coaches, the C-Train envisages a series of small, seating-only cars that would be “as high as an SUV” and capable of accommodating 20 passengers at a time. The coaches would have wheels both below and on top, so they can travel on the track and under it — giving it the appearance of a caterpillar.
Unlike the conventional metro system, which relies on heavy pillars and corridors, the C-Train would run on poles joined together to form an arch. The system would run on electricity, with each car equipped with a battery in case of emergencies. The traction mechanism is such that both acceleration and deceleration are fast.
Since coaches are smaller and lightweight and the poles require little land, the system is capable of penetrating residential areas, Upadhyaya said. Plus, it should cost a fifteenth of a conventional metro system. Each passenger will be able to choose his destination station by clicking on a console in front, he said.
“Currently, all urban mass transit systems are developed on the hub-and-spoke concept — the transport system is the hub and users have to travel from various parts of the city and converge there to use it. But the C-Train goes wherever there is at least a five-metre road,” he said.
Since coaches are seating-only, the load in each car would be limited. The stations, he said, would be designed as simple platforms accessible by elevators. The plan is to stack coaches on top of each other so that less land is required as compared to bus or metro depots. The “vertical depot” concept, he said, is a first for any urban transport system.
The idea has been dubbed the ‘internet of urban transport’, because of the fact that it could bring a mass-transit train system within a kilometre of residential areas.
Upadhyaya said he and his collaborator, fellow PHD scholar at MIT Emil Jacob, a Romanian-American, had to make several presentations and answer some tough questions before their idea was selected.
“A robust system at such a low cost, with a hardened glass body for coaches, etc… obviously there were many doubts raised about technical feasibility as well. There were even questions like, ‘What if strong winds blow the cars away from the rails?’,” he said. “But I guess we were able to satisfy all eventually.”
“Let’s hope the idea does not stay only on paper and we can build at least a prototype somewhere in the world. The next chapter will come after that,” he said.
The contest was organised by MIT’s Centre for Collective Intelligence, which aims to offer a crowd-sourcing platform where people work with experts to create, analyse and select detailed proposals on how to tackle climate change.

The idea behind a train from JU to RMM is nice... presently there is no train from JU or JP to RMM... but there a couple of issues with the route of this train as the route currently exists.
1.) The route of this train is via INDB - KNW - AK
almost 90-95% of this route is MG... and remaining is under GC... so I am assuming that if you were the RM, you would be ready to wait for another 5 yrs before launching this train via INDB - KNW -

AK. If you wanted to launch this train any sooner... you might have to consider alternatives like UJN - BPL - NGP.
2.) The halt at SWM on your timetable is only 2 min. Any train heading southwards from JP via SWM requires a reversal of direction at SWM. Fast trains like 12239/40 BCT - JP Duranto and 12955/6 BCT - JP SFast have a 10 min halt at SWM where the direction of travel is reversed and Diesel and Electric locos are swapped.
