These trains have coaches of ICF design whose length over buffers is 22.28 meter. So 22.28*24 comes to 534.72 meters.
There is always a Prescribed Load limit for the Locomotives above which the Locos are not permitted to haul. Also On steep gradients and Plateau regions , the Locos suffer More Tension & Stress (Take the Engineering meaning of Stress & Tension) due to which Buffer failure could occur and the Loco could get Detached from main rake.

we all know, in the world of Engineering , there is always a Safety limit and little bit +/- that limit is acceptable. That's why in rush seasons we are able to see 25 coacher Trains also.
Plus , along with this , i think majority of railway platforms in India are meant to be able to accommodate upto certain length only, except few record holders like Gorakhpur , Kollam , Kharagpur , Bilaspur , Jhansi to be named a few. But MAJORITY are made upto that much length only which could allow 24 ICF coaches and 22 LHB coaches in one go.
Even some stations in India also do not have even that much length to allow 24 coaches train.

Most of the currently available passenger locos are capable of hauling longer trains, and if the rake has CBC coaches, then technically speaking the rake length can be as long as possible. One of the reasons for the limit is that, the MPS of trains depends a lot on the rake length. Longer rakes will have lesser permitted speeds on curves as the coupler forces will tend to derail the train at high speeds. Since the passenger segment is aimed at high speed travel, long rakes will require more powerful locomotives, which are not suitable for the tracks currently in IR. So the limit is usually set to the point where existing locomotive power can be used to meet the schedule.

In addition, one major limit is because of the Screw couplings that are traditionally used in ICF coaches. Such kind of couplings have good ride quality, but cannot handle high loads. Usually the limit quoted is 4000 tons for freight operations and 1500+ tons for passenger operations, which is quite close to the weight of a 24 or 26 coach self generating ICF rake. Especially on gradients, these chance of failure of these couplers increases and bankers have to be provided.
However, 24 is not a strict technical limit. It is mostly limited to 24 now, because the infrastructure ( platforms, pit lines, washing lines etc) was over hauled to handle 24 coaches a long time ago, and any upgrade now would need a lot of expenditure. Some trains still do run occasionally with 25 coaches ( Kalka mail is one example), and SCR is soon going to augment one train to 26 coaches.
Trains longer than 24 coaches are not exactly rare in IR. It was just a matter of operational priority. Even as early as the 1940's, the Assam mail used to run with 26 coaches.

Goods train having length more than Passenger train having (24 coach), if the handle curve very well passenger train also. I thing Platform is main issue having 24 coach train.
