Yes no accountability at all, The conversion should really happen by this weekend as from first week of June monsoon will loom over the city which could probably again hamper the process and even the July TT needs to be designed keeping in mind the reduction of travel time... I think conversion for WR was only for a small part, If i am not wrong conversion took place from Vile Parle towards BCT side So cant compare with WR... i think it was done in stages.........first tracks were DC till BRC....every year they made small targets and converted the distance .unlike CR which converted the huge distances at one stretch..... from IGP to Titwala in one strech and Pune to Badlapur in one strech.....now slowly CR is taking the WR method No guess they did in phases did till beyond BSR earlier itself,later BSR -Vileparle also then Vileparle-Churchgate. Many trains in CR itself are old/prestigious but CR/RB is in no mood to allot LHB's to any of them, Plus MAS RAJ is LHB, Duronto is LHB, MAS-SBC DD is LHB And this train is not just any other AC Express, This is planned to run on Rajdhani Level so the priority here is increased manifolds... Since the running time will be 20 hrs it means an avg. speed of 76 km/hr LTT-KYQ is just 57 - Last year a SF special was run on same timings with SL and GEN Coaches as well besides the AC Coaches - so there is no difference in this case and this train is also just a Normal SF SC-HWH again shares its time slot with a weekly SF and is only 57 km/hr so again here also there is no difference between a Normal SF and AC SF Speed matters much and remember in the budget this LTT-NZM AC Exp got priority ahead of the third Rajdhani between BCT-NDLS, So priority is definitely very high here... 3 posts are hidden. This is said by those people who says LHB can reach CSTM after AC conversion and the bridge height matter that you mentioned is not a big problem and will be solved. Besides I myself saw a bridge common to Parel (CR) and Elphinstone Road (WR), then when WR can pass thier LHBs , why cant CR? Who is saying? :) The chances of Rajdhani is almost Nil now, This train in itself is a Rajdhani but just that 'Tag' is not their, But again this is already discussed that the Rajdhani 'Tag' itself was not proposed by CR as they did not want to lose out to WR and it worked in CR's favour, Again Rajdhani would have also taken 20 hrs as this is the limit here I would definitely love to have CSTM Rajdhani, But i dont see it coming... Besides, RF working in CR itself said me that CR may have rajdhani after this AC Express and this AC Express will be the test to look in how much patronage the train gets and if, it is high enough, it may lead to the birth of CR Rajdhani. Besides, other Railfans too are saying even after annoucement for this AC Express, WR and CR are still in forefront for third Rajdhani of Mumbai. Looks highly ambitious, An AC Express started as a trial run to gauge the patronage for Rajdhani In my opinion with working pattern of Rajdhani i.e very few berths for intermediate stations it is best that AC Express is started Passengers for Bhopal, Jhansi, Gwalior, Agra, Mathura will hardly have any berths for them End-to-End first preference will always be short route unless the CR Rajdhani does the same in 16-17 hrs which is very much impossible, WR could still get the 3rd Rajdhani... It is not just about end to end shortest distance, minimum time taken!! August kranti takes 1 hrs+ than BCT Rajdhani, BCT Duronto takes almost 2 hrs more than Rajdhani... what is the use? only Mumbai Rajdhani runs like a rajdhani in the route. Bro this AC Exp will be introduced with the TAG of "SF" and according to the planned schedule of 20 hrs the avg speed turns out to be 76 which means it would be the KING of SF's from Day One itself :D And from LTT for Down Departure as per the predicted schedule it will overtake some of the best SF's like Mangala, LTT-GKP LHB, Sachkhand, Karnataka (maybe some more) and many other M/E and passenger trains on the way to NZM... Its easy to run the train as tri-weekly with 1 single dedicated rake, Should have been tri-weekly from the start itself Hopefully by next year it should become tri-weekly... I suppose it was announced as weekly express, if enough time is available for maintenance both at nzm/ltt then can be tri-weekly otherwise can only be bi-weekly with a single rake. Just see example of nzm-pune duronto It reaches pune at 7am and departs at 11am so a 4hrs time, so this too could have been made triweekly but its just kept as biweekly. With this schedule, you need maintenance after every two days. if this was true then BCT Rajdhani and August Kranti combo would have been managed only with four rakes.
