Hi, have observed that from past few days banks like ICICI have introduced additional OTP (One Time Password) requirement while booking the tickets, this is sent to your registered mobile number and post this only ticket booking is proceeded. This causes delay in execution of the transaction and many a times (like in tatkal) the tickets get exhausted. While earlier for IRCTC transaction the bank did not have OTP requirement.
Any idea how to bridge this up???

Request you kind help and advise in the matter below:
I have booked an online tatkal ticket for my mother and sister. However, I was able to get one confirmed and one WL ticket. In normal circumstances online WL tickets gets cancelled automatically if not confirmed. In my case, one passenger in the ticket has confirmed tatkal ticket and one passenger in the same ticket have WL ticket.
Kindly advise whether in this case too..WL ticket will get cancel automatically??? I am little worried as my mother and younger sister are to travel...many...

booked cnfrmd tkt in 2AC for 26/07/14 till MMR, want to book till KPG but it was showing PQWL/WL4, but got confrmd tkt till MMR, so can I extend my journey till KPG by this train only in the same seat, dont understand the logic why got cnfrmd tkt till MMR & why not till KPG, will be going to Shirdi

I think it would be better if you take taxi from Manmad to Shirdi. There are shared option available as well (if you want to try them). The moment you get out of the station, you will spot vans standing who take devotees to Shirdi (they take approx 1 to 1.5 hours & charges INR 100 to INR 150). If you want to hire individual taxis, that option is also available but would be comparitively costly.
This is with regard to Change of Boarding Point# while booking ticket.
Train travels from 'A' to 'C' and my desired boarding point is 'B'. However the ticket quota from 'B' is very minimal. I understand w.e.f Aug 01 2013, rules have been amended to provide that I can book a ticket from 'A' to 'C' with boarding from 'B'. In this case I will have benefit of utilizing quota of 'A' station (even though price would be higher but I would have a confirmed ticket).

Thanks Gaurav. .just a small thing more. In my case the boarding station comes the next day of the originating station. Hope this also is of no issue.

So suppose if I want to catch the train on 10th and it starts from the originating station on 9th so I will book ticket for 9th only giving my boarding point (which will be reached on 10th)

Thats wonderful :) actually this is indeed very helpful specially for those stations which have lesser quota. You can have confirmed berth even though at a bit higher cost
