As, Chandigarh is the capital city of Punjab, a lot of people are visiting the city beautiful for their respective organisation whether it is PGI or High Court or Secretariat or University or Corporate House's Reginoal/Zonal headquarters or the Public Limited Companies/ Private Copmanies in Industrial area of Chandigarh /IT park/ Panchkula etc. Most of the people have the office timings starting at 9.00 AM or 10.00 AM. In the eveneing timing of the offices are either 5.00 PM or 6.00 PM.

timings suits most of the passangers. Though everybody is waiting for the commissioning of the Chndigarh-Samrala-Ludhiana railway line anxiously for which our honourable Minster of Railways has set up up the priority. We are expecting to start of the service in this section early next year, Thus making more time saving for everybody.
A news of changing of the time of the train has been made daily passengers worried as it will not only reduce the earning of the railways but Daily passengers have to shell-out more money as we will be forced to travel by Bus where one side fare for the bus(non ac) is Rs 83.00 between Ludhiana - Chandigarh (in train it is Rs 50) where MST charges are Rs 2905 between Ludhiana - Chandigarh by road (Rs 505 for one month in train including the superfast charge of Rs 150.00). So it will put more burden on our pockets (AAM AADMI) if the timing of the train will be changed.
Passengers are not against the morning train from Chandigarh to Amritsar, but it should not be at the cost of Evening Train. It is our suggestion that one more train may be started instead of changing the time of this currently scheduled train, so that people may be get benefited who want to travel to Amritsar or other places. One more option may be starting of the New Delhi-Chandigarh-Amritsar Mail/Express via Chandigarh-Samrala-Ludhiana. Also some morning trains from Ambala Cantt. to Amritsar/Jammu Tawi may be diverted via Chandigarh-Samrala-Ludhiana for the benefit of the passangers and similiarly this can be done for the evening timing of these trains from amritsar/Jammu Tawi.
Also to accommodate more people from Punjab, we once again suggest you to make the stoppage of the train at Phagwara and Mohali along with addition of the general coaches to this train although one AC coach has been added to this train recently. As the People has to visit the city beautiful frequently for the routine work the morning train should be there from ASR/JUC/LDH in the morning. Specific trains like Shatabdi/JanShatabdi to Chandigarh will not be a fruitful option for the Daily Passengers.
Also if the train train has to be changed, we request you to start at least a pair of passenger trains between Ludhiana and Chandigarh in the early morning and before noon and going back in the reverse direction in the after noon and evening.
