Today morning I reached NZM with almost 15 minute in spare. Reached to my coach, adjusted my bag under the seat, surprisingly had enough space there this time. Got down on plateform to have my usual walk taking account of engine, coaches and people. The loco piolet were busy taking their readings and foing pre checks, i guess. The generater car was bussing, caterers were loading water and other stuffs to coaches. A lot was happening at busy NZM platform no 6. On platform no 5 august kranti arrived early with LHB - duronto mismatched rakes.
Train started on time and then my co pessanger asked if I could exchange the seat with the one in BE1. Well I was expecting...
more... this as it has become a tradition for me not to travel on my alloted seat. So changed the coach and seat with my bags and to my surprise, this coupe too had space for luggage. I was wondering are the days of luggage fight over, the holiday season is ending in north and ended in west. Well good for me.
Train was running at its fast speed and the service started with snail speed but the caterers are not to be blamed, after all this is 3A and have more births compared to 2A.
I was initially shocked by a degraded service compared to Rajdhani, but that is expected because Rajdhani is highest priority train.
I had arguments last time in Duronto putting Rajdhani and Duronto at par but my own earlier experience on Delhi Chennai route was otherwise and now after travelling in these two train 3A with in 2 week proved me right.
Well the beauty of Duronto is it's non stop Journey, not counting the technical halts, reaching Pune in least possible time by train.
The other thing I observed in Duronto is, often, people are either from Delhi or from Pune and enough room to start talks taking any city in account.
