The biggest boon to Vizag is that it is destined to become Headquarters of the new railway zone SECoR. In fact, it is one of the 12 projects listed out by him for Visakhapatnam district. It will be developed as a mega city besides being developed as a mega IT hub. Besides Visakhapatnam, he also showered boons on Srikakulam and Vizianagaram, which can spur the growth of north Andhra region. The proposed new Greenfield International Airport, which is likely to be set up at Bhogapuram in Vizianagaram district, can meet the long-term expansion needs of Visakhapatnam International Airport. The Vizag-Chennai Industrial Corridor, which has already been announced by the Centre, will spur industrial growth. The talks with representatives of MNCs are in an advanced stage and are expected to attract huge investments, Mr.Naidu said. The other proposals which can put Vizag on the fast track mode of development include: metro rail, mega IT hub, electronics manufacturing centre.
On the contrary, Railwaymen and public representatives from Vijayawada have expressed shock of the announcement. The hopes of having the headquarters of the proposed South East Coast Railway (SECoR) Zone in Vijayawada have been dashed, with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu deciding to set it up in Visakhapatnam, they said.
Vijayawada Division was viewed by Railway employees’ unions and passengers as the most suitable for setting up the HQ of the proposed zone but the government thought otherwise.
There was speculation that Vijayawada would be chosen for the zonal HQ amidst contradictory reports that it (Vijayawada) might be ruled out as an option. The latter has finally come true for reasons which appear to be more commercial than logistical. Incidentally, the annual revenue of the Visakhapatnam Division, which is situated in Bhubaneswar-based East Coast Railway, is more than double that of the Vijayawada division.
Coming to logistics, Visakhapatnam is no match to Vijayawada division. The number of trains (both passenger and freight) that pass through Vijayawada station is a staggering 300-plus in a day. But this was ignored for various other reasons on which clarity is likely to emerge in the due course.
Divisional Railway Manager Pradeep Kumar denied having any information about the location of the new zone’s HQ except that he came to know of the speculation through the media. Reports in a section of the media, he said, said from day one that the zone HQ would be located in Visakhapatnam, as the capital was destined to be set up around Vijayawada, whereas a number of issues were to be sorted out by the Ministry of Railways to carve out a new zone.

తిరుపతి నుంచి తిరుమలకు సురక్షితంగా భక్తులను చేర్చడానికి మోనో రైలును ఏర్పాటుచేయాలని తిరుపతి పట్టణాభివృద్ధి సంస్థ(తుడా) ప్రతిపాదించింది. రూ.3,510 కోట్లతో మోనో రైలు ప్రాజెక్టును చేపట్టేందుకు డీపీఆర్ (సమగ్ర ప్రణాళిక నివేదిక)ను రూపొందించింది. ప్రాజెక్టును చేపట్టేందుకు ఆర్థిక సహాయం చేయాలని తుడా అధికారులు కేంద్రానికి నివేదిక పంపారు.

సాక్షి ప్రతినిధి, తిరుపతి: అత్యంత ప్రసిద్ధి చెందిన ఆధ్యాత్మిక కేంద్రంగా తిరుపతి విరాజిల్లుతోంది. తిరుమల ఏడుకొండల స్వామిని దర్శించుకునే భక్తుల సంఖ్య నానాటికీ పెరుగుతోంది. రోజూ సగటున 65 వేల మంది భక్తులు తిరుపతికి వస్తున్నారు. ఆర్టీసీ బస్సులు, సొంత వాహనాలు, ప్రైవేటు వాహనాల ద్వారా భక్తులు తిరుమలకు చేరుకుంటున్నారు. ప్రతి రోజూ ఆర్టీసీ బస్సులు మొదలు ద్విచక్ర వాహనాల వరకూ మొత్తం పదివేల వాహనాల్లో 65 వేల మంది భక్తులు తిరుమలకు వెళ్తున్నారు. వాహనాలు అధికమవుతుండడం వల్ల తిరుమల ఘాట్ రోడ్డులో ట్రాఫిక్ సమస్య తీవ్రమై ప్రమాదాలకు దారి తీస్తోంది.

భారీ వర్షాలు కురిసినపుడు కొండచరియలు విరిగి పడడం వల్ల తిరుమల ఘాట్ రోడ్డులో వాహనాల రాకపోకలకు తీవ్ర అంతరాయం కలుగుతోంది. ఈ నేపథ్యంలో తిరుమల ఘాట్ రోడ్డులో ట్రాఫిక్ సమస్యకు పరిష్కారం.. భక్తులను సులభంగా ఏడుకొండల స్వామి వద్దకు చేర్చడానికి తుడా అనేక మార్గాలను అన్వేషించింది. అందులో రోప్ వే ఒకటి. రోపే వే పై సర్వత్రా విమర్శలు వ్యక్తమయ్యాయి. దాంతో.. మోనో రైలుపై తుడా అధికారులు కసరత్తు చేశారు. తిరుపతి ఆర్టీసీ బస్‌స్టేషన్ నుంచి తిరుమలకు 27 కిమీల దూరం ఉంటుంది. తిరుపతి నుంచి తిరుమలకు మోనో రైలు మార్గాన్ని ఏర్పాటుచేయడానికి నిపుణులతో కలిసి తుడా అధికారులు సర్వే చేశారు. తిరుమల ఘాట్ రోడ్డు వెంబడే రైలు మార్గాన్ని నిర్మించడానికి అనుకూలమైన వాతావరణం ఉందని తేల్చారు. ఇప్పటికే రోడ్డు మార్గం ఉండటంతో ఆ పక్కనే మోనో రైలు మార్గాన్ని నిర్మించడానికి అటవీశాఖ అనుమతులు కూడా సులభంగా వస్తాయని అంచనా వేశారు.

ఈ క్రమంలోనే మోనో రైలు ప్రాజెక్టును చేపట్టడానికి సమగ్ర ప్రాజెక్టు నివేదికను రూపొందించడానికి పూర్తి స్థాయిలో సర్వే చేశారు. తిరుపతి ఆర్టీసీ బస్‌స్టేషన్ నుంచి తిరుమలకు రైలు మార్గం నిర్మించడానికి.. తొలి దశలో ఆరు మోనో రైలు ఇంజిన్లు, వంద బోగీలను కొనుగోలు చేయడానికి రూ.3,510 కోట్లు అవసరం అవుతాయని తేల్చారు. ప్రస్తుతం తిరుపతి ఆర్టీసీ బస్‌స్టేషన్ సముదాయంలో ఉన్న తిరుమల బస్‌స్టేషన్‌ను మోనో రైల్వే స్టేషన్‌గా మార్చాలని ప్రతిపాదించారు. కపిలతీర్థం వద్ద ఓ రైల్వే స్టేషన్.. అలిపిరి వద్ద మరో రైల్వే స్టేషన్ నిర్మించాలని ప్రతిపాదించారు. మోనో రైలు ప్రాజెక్టుకు అవసరమైన నిధులను సమకూర్చుకునేందుకు తుడా అధికారులు సిద్ధమయ్యారు. ఈ క్రమంలోనే టీటీడీ యాజమాన్యం.. కేంద్ర, రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వాలకు ఆర్థిక సహాయం చేయాలని నివేదిక పంపారు. మోనో రైలు ప్రాజెక్టు భారీ వ్యయంతో కూడినది కావడంతో కేంద్రంపైనే తుడా అధికారులు ఆశలు పెంచుకున్నారు.

ఈనెల 15న తిరుపతి ఎంపీ వి.వరప్రసాదరావు తుడా అధికారులతో సమీక్ష సమావేశం నిర్వహించారు. అధికారులు మోనో రైల్వే ప్రాజెక్టు విషయాన్ని ఎంపీ దృష్టికి తీసుకెళ్లారు. కేంద్రం నిధులు వచ్చేలా చూడాలని కోరారు. ఇందుకు ఎంపీ స్పందిస్తూ.. ఆ ప్రాజెక్టు నివేదికను తనకు ఇవ్వడంతోపాటు కేంద్రానికి, టీటీడీ బోర్డుకు పంపాలని ఆదేశించారు. తుడా అధికారులు ఈనెల 16న ఎంపీ వరప్రసాదరావుకు మోనో రైల్వే ప్రాజెక్టు నివేదికను అందించారు. అదే రోజున కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వానికి, టీటీడీ ఈవో ఎంజీ గోపాల్‌కు నివేదిక పంపారు. మోనో రైల్వే ప్రాజెక్టు నిర్మాణానికి అయ్యే వ్యయంలో 50 శాతం కేంద్రం భరిస్తే.. తక్కిన 50 శాతం టీటీడీ, రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం, తుడా భరించేందుకు సిద్ధంగా ఉన్నాయని అధికారులు స్పష్టీకరిస్తున్నారు. ఏదిఏమైనా మోనో రైల్వే ప్రాజెక్టు సాకారమైతే తిరుమలకు భక్తుల రవాణా కష్టాలు తీరినట్లే

yeah, there would be always some anti social crooks who cannot understand religious sentiments. There was a hill top road planend for Simhachalam where the project was shelved after the Tar road was laid at some point, it travels much higher than the sanctum of the temple. Now, some crooks will argue that why God cannot accept another road to the hill top.

The rope way scrapped as the rope route would be travelling at much higher altitude than the sanctum and hence the project was scrapped. Similarly, monorail would be running on pillars and might be objected too.

There is a Damn need for Mumbai - Chennai AC Duranto....I bet it will be super hit like Mumbai - New Delhi. There are no exciting trains on this route...I mean like sampark kranti or Duranto..Recent Rail budget was also disappointment..Although they have started Premium but i don't understand the meaning of this train. In fact, one cannot compare TT of various train between sectors and design a TT.
VSKP Drnt is fastest between VSKP and BZA and perhaps, Rajdhani between bza and mas. So, can we make a SF with 10.5 hrs to TT to MAS from VSKP by taking VSKP BZA with Drnt TT and BZA MAS wit Rajdhani TT ?

Dear what you have given is fact... but one thing that needs to be considered is that say if a particular train is fastest between A and B then between B and C and/or C and D it will be given some slack adjustment for covering its delay.

So IR cannot put all fast TTs together and introduce a train. Without slack a min of 2 hour delay is sure for every run...

he would have given correctly taking station by station yes infact AJJ-MAS in one hour not possible..but GTL-MAS in 7h possible..he given LTT-PUNE in 3hrs which also sufficient..but he given Lonavala kalyan with 140kmph which is highly not possible..

1)Some trains can well run upto Velecherry with halts at Tiruvanmiyur n Chennai Beach

Chennai is 3 rd biggest metro of india but terminal station are just 2 in city.
Its very less when compared to mumbai or delhi or Howrah or banglore or hyderabad.
So there is no doubt that chennai needs atleast another to terminal stations.

i agree city is developing like any thng towards OMR n GST road i mean TBM-CGL route for dem all they have to come to MAS which is almost 20-30kms for many many office Guys MAS is just starting point in Chennai..really wonder with SR even ambattur having many offices but der also no stop for any train towards MAS ever one coming to MAS MAS MAS atleast they given halt at perambur..guindy is the center point for chennai even for south bound trains no halt in guindy

If SR managed to provide GUNDY as stop for as many trains as it can....then surely around 20% of population flow will reduce at MS for sure. As people travel up to MAS and they will get down and comes back by a local.

Excellent Suggestion , few trains should have halt at AVD from SBC/CBE/RU side. BZA trains can have PON, For south bound trains to MS already has TBM , so not much of a worry . West and North line really needs a stopping . AVD or even TRL is fine
